František Kunzo (born September 17, 1954 in Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak football player on the position of a defender .

Club career

Kunzo began playing football in Spišský Hrušov , at the age of 17 he played for the first team of ŽB Rudňany. In the 1972/73 season, the defender played for Lokomotíva Spišská Nová Ves. Then Kunzo moved to the then second division club Dukla Banská Bystrica , with whom he rose in 1977 in the first Czechoslovak league.

After ten years in Banská Bystrica , Kunzo moved to Lokomotíva Košice in the summer of 1983 , and after three years and 80 first division games, the man marked moved to Austria .

In the first Czechoslovakian league Kunzo completed a total of 191 games, a goal was denied the defender.

Olympic team

In 1980 František Kunzo was part of the Czechoslovak selection that won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Moscow . The defender was used in two group games and in the quarter and semi-finals. In the final, coach František Havránek preferred the recovered Zdeněk Rygel in the man mark position , while Kunzo was only on the bench.

Kunzo played a total of eleven games for the Czechoslovak Olympic team.

Youth coach

After his playing career, František Kunzo worked as a youth coach at Lokomotíva Košice.
