Sam Ashley

Sam Ashley (born before 1979) is an American singer and performance artist.

Ashley has been an experimental artist for three decades, exploring trance in music and the visual arts. His work includes solo performances, sound installations as well as numerous joint projects with which he u. a. performed in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Indonesia and Cuba. In addition, he also produced instrumental, tape, electronic and computer music and participated in video projects.

He was the founder and director of the Cactus Needle Project , an electronic and computer music ensemble with which he performed in the United States for five years. With the duo AA Bee Removal he produced tape pieces for ten years. He also produced experimental radio plays.

He toured Germany several times with Gustavo Matamoros . As a member of his father Robert Ashley's opera company , he sang leading roles in several of his operas.
