Luděk Macela (born October 3, 1950 in Černolice ; † June 16, 2016 ) was a Czechoslovak football player and Czech football official . With the Czechoslovak team he won the gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in the USSR.

Club career

Luděk Macela played for SK Černolice and Tatran Všenory in his youth. At the age of 16 he moved to Dukla Prague . The defender did not make his first appearance in the 1st Czechoslovak League until the 1972/73 season. Macela remained loyal to Dukla for ten years and won the Czechoslovak Championship with the Army Club in 1977, 1979 and 1982 . The male decker won the national cup in 1981. Macela scored twelve goals in 267 first division games for Dukla Prague.

From 1982 to 1985 he played for SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga and then ended his career.

Olympic victory

For the Czechoslovak Olympic team Macela played for the first time in October 1978. At the 1980 Summer Olympics , he led the team as captain to the gold medal . Macela played a total of 17 games for the Olympic team and scored one goal.

National team

Macela made his debut in the Czechoslovak national team on October 15, 1980. The ČSSR lost to Argentina 0: 1. Macela's last of eight games was Czechoslovakia's 4-0 win against a UEFA selection on August 18, 1981.

Trainer

After returning from Darmstadt , Macela worked as a trainer at SK Černolice, which he also looked after from 2003 to 2006.

From 1997 to mid-2001 Macela was general secretary of the Czech Football Association and at the same time chaired the referee committee . With the fall of the association president František Chvalovský , Macela was also relieved of his offices in June 2001.

Subsequently, the former international headed the training center of AC Sparta Prague in Strahov Stadium , before he was again chairman of the referee committee (Czech: Komise rozhodčích a delegátů ) in 2006 .
