Jarmila Nygrýnová

Jarmila Nygrýnová (married Strejčková ; born February 15, 1953 in Plzeň , † January 5, 1999 ) was a Czech long jumper who started for Czechoslovakia .

In 1972 she won bronze at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Grenoble and was twelfth at the Olympic Games in Munich .

In 1973 she won silver at the European Indoor Championships in Rotterdam and gold at the Universiade in 1975 . Two fourth places at the Indoor European Championships in 1974 in Gothenburg and in 1975 in Katowice, followed by another silver medal at the Indoor European Championships in 1976 in Munich. That same year she was sixth at the Montreal Olympics .

In 1977 she won gold at the European Indoor Championships in San Sebastián and was second at the World Athletics Cup in Düsseldorf and the Universiade, in 1978 she defended her title at the European Indoor Championships in Milan and won bronze at the European Athletics Championships in Prague .

With silver she won a medal for the last time at a major international event at the European Indoor Championships in Vienna in 1979 . In 1980 she was sixth at the Olympic Games in Moscow and in 1982 eleventh at the European Championships in Athens . At the World Athletics Championships in 1983 , she was tenth and came with the Czechoslovak team in eighth place in the 4-by-100-meter relay .

She was Czechoslovakian champion in the long jump six times (1976–1980, 1984) and once over 100 m (1976). In the hall she won ten national titles in the long jump (1971-1973, 1975-1980) and once each over 50 m (1972) and 60 m (1973).
