Renata Nielsen

Renata Nielsen (born Pytelewska ; born May 18, 1966 in Otwock ) is a former Danish athlete of Polish origin who was particularly successful in the long jump.

In 1990 she became both Polish and Danish long jump champions. After she had accepted Danish citizenship , she was Danish champion nine times, eight times in the long jump (1992-1998, 2000) and once in the triple jump (2000).

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​she finished eleventh in the long jump. Nielsen achieved her greatest international success at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart. There she won the bronze medal in the long jump behind Heike Drechsler (7.11 m) and Laryssa Bereschna (6.98 m) with a distance of 6.76 m . Nielsen also started in Stuttgart in the triple jump, but retired in the qualification. At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994 , she just missed a medal in the long jump as fourth. In contrast, she won the long jump title at 6.76 m at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Stockholm in 1996 .

Renata Nielsen is 1.76 m tall and weighed 63 kg at competition times. It started for Aarhus Idrætsforening af 1900.
