The Lebanon participated in the Summer Olympics in 1980 in Moscow in part with a delegation of 15 male athletes in 16 competitions in eight sports. The wrestler Hassan Bechara won the bronze in the super heavyweight of the Greco-Roman style, the only medal in Lebanon at the games.
