Libor Radimec (born May 22, 1950 in Ostrava ) is a former Czech football player .

Club career

Libor Radimec started playing football at the Ostrava club TJ VŽKG Vítkovice . At the age of 19 he went to Dukla Jindřichův Hradec for two seasons to do his military service there and then returned to Vítkovice.

In the summer of 1973, the midfielder was committed by city rivals Baník Ostrava . With Baník, Radimec, who later switched to the libero position , became Czechoslovak champions in 1976, 1980 and 1981. In 1978 the team won the Czechoslovak Cup.

At the beginning of 1983 Radimec went to FK Austria Wien , after only six months he moved on to First Vienna FC , where he ended his career in 1985.

National team

In the Czechoslovak national team , Libor Radimec only made his debut at the age of 30 on April 30, 1980 against Hungary. He was scheduled for the 1980 European Championship but was injured in the last game of the season. He got fit in time for the 1980 Summer Olympics in the Soviet Union , where the Czechoslovak team won gold. Radimec was one of the best players in the ČSSR. He was also in the squad at the 1982 World Cup , but Czechoslovakia was eliminated without a win after the group stage.
