Otakar Hořínek (born May 12, 1929 in Prostějov ; † June 8, 2015 ) was a Czechoslovak sports shooter .

successes

Otakar Hořínek took part in the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 and in Rome in 1960 with the small bore rifle. In the three-position fight, like Anatoli Bogdanow , he achieved the best result of the competition with 1172 points, but only received the silver medal, since Bogdanow had achieved the better result in the prone position. In the prone competition, Hořínek just missed another medal win in fourth. He finished the 1960 games in a three-position battle in tenth place and in a lying position in 28th place. Between the two Olympic appearances won Hořínek 1958 in Moscow at the World Championships with the small-caliber team kneeling stop.
