Štěpánka Mertová
Štěpánka Mertová (born December 11, 1930 in Moravičany , † September 20, 2004 ) was a Czechoslovakian discus thrower .
She was fourth at the 1954 European Athletics Championships in Bern and eighth at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne.
In 1958 she won silver at the European Championships in Stockholm .
An eleventh place at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome was followed by an eighth place at the 1962 European Championship in Belgrade and the 1966 European Championship in Budapest.
She was Czechoslovakian champion five times (1953, 1954, 1957-1959). She set her personal best of 54.17 m on May 22, 1960 in Prague .
