Former lower castle, now Regenstauf's cultural center

The Lower Castle is located in the Upper Palatinate market Regenstauf in the Regensburg district of Bavaria . The building that was later used as the district court is now the Regenstauf cultural center (Hauptstrasse 34).

history

In the middle of the 15th century, a seat was built in the Regenstauf market, which was owned by the then caretaker of Regenstauf Castle . At that time, a Marquart sturgeon is called “who has maintained the ducal castle and the Regenstauf rule for life in such a way that he may keep the Gilten for himself and also hold and use the customs and the court, but bequeaths his seat to Regenstauf for the case of his death to the duke for incorporation into his rule. "

The Störs are attested in Regenstauf as early as 1395. Von Reisach (1780, p. 185) writes about this: "In the market there is said to have been an aristocratic seat ... Dermahlen it is the office building in the middle of a pond, where you can walk across a footbridge or a small bridge." The house was still one at that time Weiherhausanlage , which probably corresponded to the original appearance.

The nursing home fell victim to the flames in the course of a major fire in 1781 and was rebuilt in 1785.

The Lower Castle today

During the period in which Regenstauf belonged to the Duchy of Palatinate-Neuburg , the nursing office was housed here, from 1812 the regional court and from 1863 the Regenstauf district court . The building later became the culture and multi-generation house. The Regenstauf Culture House is located in the building today (Hauptstrasse 34).
