The Silbermannsche Schlösschen (also called Holzheimer Schlösschen because of its previous owners ) is a listed building at Langen Gasse 21-25 in Markt Kallmünz in Upper Palatinate in the district of Regensburg ( Bavaria ).

history

The initial building was built by the local nobleman Dietrich the Holzheimer , who was awarded two fields here by the regional court on June 18, 1375 in a dispute against the abbess of the St. Paul monastery . The history of this building largely corresponds to that of Schloss Holzheim am Forst , as it was assigned to Hofmark Holzheim am Forst . In 1532 it came to Ulrich von Raitenbuch , who sold it to the councilor Leonhard von Eck zu Holzheim and Wolfseck in 1541 . In 1573 it came to the St. Paul Monastery of Regensburg and in 1605 it appeared in the possession of the Pielenhofen Monastery .

After the Thirty Years' War it was bought by the noble Großwein Silbermann , who also owned the castle in Holzheim am Forst and the Hofmark Steinsberg . As the date shows, he had the building renovated in 1682. In 1718 it was given to his son-in-law Johann Adam Heinrich Alexander de Gera and in 1765 to his son-in-law Anton von Reisach . In 1806 it was bought by Karl Anton Junker Bigatto . It remained in his family until the Hofmark was dissolved in 1862.

From then on, several families shared the property. On January 18, 1898, a foreclosure auction took place over the estate of the merchant Wilhelm Rex (at that time house no. 176), whereby the Gütler Josef Geigenfeind from Kallmünz bought the property for 3,350 marks. The castle building has belonged to other members of the Geigenfeind family since 1904 (without the tower).

Construction

The property extends over three buildings in Langen Gasse. Most noticeable is the high four-storey residential tower, which is now covered with a relatively flat roof (it used to have a high, pointed roof). The tower is structured with cornices; it was probably built in 1582. The year MDCLXXXII (1682) is attached to building no.25. Building no. 21 is probably the old castle, and house no. 25 with its stucco facade was added as a mansion.
