Bergstetten Castle

The Schlossberg Stetten is a Grade II listed building in the Schloßstraße 1 in the district Bergstetten the market Laaber in the district of Regensburg ( Bayern ).

history

The castle is first mentioned in 1627. Back then sold Abraham Sieghart his court to Bergstetten to the Vice Chancellor and carers of Burgheim , Simon de Labrique. Duke Wolfgang Wilhelm granted him lower jurisdiction and raised the estate to a country estate . In 1723 the castle was rebuilt. Around 1700 Michael von Drechsel (1697–1712) is named as the owner, who was related to the Labriques through his mother. He had acquired the Hofmark from the other two co-heirs, Peter Wilhelm von Dalem and Ida Sauerzapf (née von Labrique). The property remained in the possession of the Drechsel family until the beginning of the 19th century. Today the castle is privately owned.

The castle is a baroque two-winged and two-storey hipped roof building with grooved corner pilasters and plaster structure and a gatehouse and arched entrance at right angles. The coat of arms shows the year of construction 1726.
