Bernhardswald Castle

The former Bernhardswald Castle is a listed building in Zum Alten Schloss 1 in the Bernhardswald community in the Regensburg district ( Bavaria ).

history

There was already a medieval Niederungsburg ( moated castle ) here. After the fire in 1885, the 18th century castle was rebuilt. Previous owners were the lords of Teuerling, Böhaim, Stinglheim, Meldegg and the counts of Thurn and Taxis . Today the castle is privately owned (since 1996 the Stangl family).

building

The castle is a simple two-story, gable-independent gable roof with a stepped gable and a staircase extension. The castle chapel from 1614 is now used as a residential building.
