history
In 1570, Duke Albrecht of Bavaria sold his Hohengebraching estate to Abbot Blasius Baumgartner of the St. Emmeram Monastery . " ARNOLPHI CLAUSTRO DVM REGNAT BLASIUS ABBAS FRATRIBUS HAEC DOMUS EST AEDIFICATA SVIS ANNA SALVTIS MDLXXIIII "
On September 1, 1574, Duke Albrecht cleared the castle.
In 1727, Prince Abbot Anselm Godin de Tampezo built an extension to the east, which was intended as a summer residence for the abbots. After the secularization , the property was leased on April 1, 1803 by Abbot Steiglehner . On December 12, 1811, Steiglehner canceled the lease with the state of Bavaria. The castle had previously been plundered by the French in the coalition wars and the abbot was robbed of his coin collection and his wine supply. In 1812 the property was bought by Johann Georg Hammerschmid, a businessman from Regensburg. After ten years he sold it to the braid maker Johann Georg Cram. He died three years later and the property came to the estate agent Gustav Wilhelm Henle. In 1828 he sold the castle to the Catholic Church Foundation. In 1843 the tavern keeper Franz Xaver Mundigl from Mariaort bought the estate . He built a brewery and a forest tavern (demolished in 1923). In 1872 Mundigl sold all of his property to the Prince of Thurn und Taxis . In 1948 an expropriation notice was issued for the agricultural part and the Princely House was compensated. Later the castle came to the entrepreneur Hermann Zitzelsberger. The construction of a parish and youth home instead of the old sacristan's house in the immediate vicinity of the castle was stopped for monument protection reasons.
