One of the best-known Leipzig architects - Max Bösenberg - submitted plans for examination in April 1886 for the construction of a villa in the middle of the "Villa Colony Böhlitz-Ehrenberg". Franz Schlobach is well-known as the builder, for an extension in 1898 Gustav Gebauer and other small conversions in addition to the addition of two verandas in 1900 Miss Margarete Janke (architects Georg Weidenbach and Richard Tschammer). In 1995 Werner von Printz from Schwarzburg intended to build a residential and commercial building instead of the villa embedded in a garden. The restrained-looking villa building on the property in the corner of Leipziger Straße with a clinker-structured plastered facade over a high Cyclops masonry base, a pillar porch and a rather high, tiled roof, the dignified furnishings and the fencing have been partially preserved. The villa garden, which is still recognizable in its structures, has also survived. As the work of the architect Max Bösenberg of particular relevance to the history of architecture, of value in terms of local building history, the corner plot including the listed garden is also of importance in terms of urban planning. Water tower
Water tower Bielastrasse
(map)
marked 1912 (water tower) distinctive yellow brick building with loft container, of importance in terms of building history and technology history, characterizing the townscape

In addition to the waterworks at Dölziger Straße 100 on Gundorfer Flur, a water tower was also built in the vicinity of the parish hall in 1911/1912. The company Franke & Berghold Radebeul, Leipzig, Görlitz was responsible for the elevated tank. The municipality rejected an alternative draft from the Saxon Homeland Security Association because of higher costs. Berlin-Anhaltische Maschinenbau-AG manufactured the loft container with a capacity of 500 m³. The tower shaft, elegantly tapering upwards, is structured by a pilaster structure and segmented arched windows. The large container floor, where there are also three clocks, sits on a multi-staggered projection. The external appearance is dominated by yellow brickwork, which is only interrupted in a few places by stone elements. The technical systems have not been in use since 2006; after the shutdown, the tower was extensively renovated. As a testimony to the infrastructural development, the tower has a local and socio-historical significance, the water supply facilities that have been preserved give it a special technical-historical relevance, and the location and size of the building result in a local presence. Paul Schkölziger, leaseholder of the manor in Zweinaundorf, commissioned Ernst Winter in 1911 with the execution work for a country house. The plans came from the Leipzig architectural office of Walter Hessling, who was also the site manager. Several times , documents were signed by Curt Schiemichen on behalf of Hessling . On March 1, 1912, the final examination could be applied for, a small stable building for small cattle, goats, chickens and pigs was built by the executor Alfred Müller probably in 1919. Around 1978 various value preservation and modernization measures were carried out on the house, which now has three rental apartments to speak has been carried out. In particular, the diverse tile landscape of the high roof characterizes the compact structure with plastered facade. Elements of the reform architecture and the Heimatstyle mix, add décor and ornamentation to the functional architecture in detail, to which the exquisite design of the interior also contributes. Formerly five rooms and a girls' room were set up under the roof, the laundry room was built into the basement and the ground floor - mediated via the hallway and hallway - took the dining room, children's room, living room, toilet, salon and kitchen with pantry and a garden-side exit in the form of a small hall on. For the upper-class residential building there is an architectural and local historical value. LfD / 2017

1899–1900 (villa) Clinker brick facade, echoes of the Swiss style, of importance in terms of building history, value for the development of the place, of importance in terms of building history

The country house of the master mason and builder August Schirmer, built in 1899/1900 behind a narrow front garden, appears as a gem of the Heimatstyle with three living rooms arranged around a forecourt, kitchen and closet below and four rooms on the floor above, laundry room and bathroom were in the basement. Window frames made of cement cast stone contrast with the façades made of red brickwork, and a stucco cartouche in neo-baroque style is emblazoned in the gable triangle of a triple window . The protruding roof and the semicircular open gable with free rafters are characteristic. A single-storey closed veranda is attached to the western gable on the western gable, which has been made accessible on the upper floor through a balcony exit (changed). At the other gable a double flight of stairs leads to the house entrance. At the rear of the property is a former mechanic's workshop of the engineer and factory owner Paul Ulbricht, built from 1909 and variously rebuilt and expanded. To the right of the building, a brick-paved path leads to the house entrance and the workshop. The buildings and land are evidence of the expansion of the area around 1900, and there is a historical value. LfD / 2017, 2019

1899–1900 (rental villa) Clinker brick facade, interesting facade design and very well-preserved interior fittings (e.g. floor tiles), important in terms of building history

Between the summer of 1899 and the spring of 1900, the magnificent, charming country house was built for the local mason August Schirmer, who is also to be approached for carrying out the construction work and managing the project. After completion, private Fritz Erbs took over the property and house. The red clinker building over the base of the Cyclops wall is characterized by an oriel placed at the corner on masked consoles, a central projectile and exposed framework in the large gable, as well as the wide overhang of the roof. The laundry room and bathroom were located in the basement, the ground floor and first floor each accommodated an apartment with a kitchen, three rooms, a corridor, bedroom, girls' room, toilet and veranda, with the lower veranda having a direct staircase into the garden. As early as 1914 the exits were noted as glazed. The front garden plays an important role in the effect of the property, as does the refurbished and supplemented enclosure made of clinker pillars and stakes, and the attractive tower tower above the bay window has been reconstructed. For the country house building, a historical and a historical value has to be claimed. LfD / 2016

1928–1929 (residential house), 1928–1929 (garage) Plastered facade, well-preserved example of the traditionalist architecture of the time, architectural details in the style of Expressionism, important in terms of building history

Between April 1928 and February 1929 a two-storey office and residential building was built for the company Julius Kalb & Co. Nachf. According to the drawings and static calculations submitted by the architect Otto Juhrich. At the same time, a car shed was built as an auxiliary building, and around 1932 an emergency apartment, initially only approved for five years, was installed under the roof. As is typical of the street, the house has a very narrow front garden, the house entrance with shell limestone framing is arranged on the side, as a vestibule and behind it with a clearly visible staircase extension. The house, which looks compact thanks to its three-axis façade, is completely plastered over a broken stone base, grooved corner pilasters, a cornice, a hipped roof with a two-axis roof house, and the windows on the upper floor have folding shutters. The effort to integrate the new building into the building structure in the street, in which loose construction predominates and the architectural destination of which is the Catholic Church, is clearly visible. Parts of the construction equipment have been preserved, including windows with colored glazing. The building is part of the Böhlitz-Ehrenberg villa district, documents the architecture and construction methods of the late 1920s and is of architectural value. LfD / 2017, 2019

(card)
1904 (number 27), 1904–1905 (number 25) Plastered facade, laterally curved gable with spherical crowning, half-timbered construction on the upper floor, scientific and documentary value, of architectural significance

The application for the construction of a country house (number 27) for the merchant Carl Kimmeritz, who also intended to build the neighboring house at the same time, dates from March 1904. The architect R. Rammner initially took on the drafts, static calculations and construction management. After the building permit has been granted and the tectures specified, the bricklayer Franz Krause will be responsible for construction management, execution and, ultimately, the financing from autumn of that year. The final examination took place in May 1905. In 1929 the owner and operations manager Edmund Fischer initiated a veranda construction, and in 1938 flush toilets were installed. Conversions and extensions as part of a building renovation took place in 1997 and 2007. The picturesque appearance of the sibling house with number 27 is due in particular to the neo-renaissance gables, different window formats, the distinctive roof landscape and the visible framework on the upper floor. A wide front garden supports the street-side effect of the detached semi-detached house, most of the furnishings have been preserved. For the effective twin house, a historical building value and a historical site development value were determined. LfD / 2016 The application for the construction of a country house for the businessman Carl Kimmeritz, who also intended to build the neighboring house at the same time, dates from March 1904. Architect R. Rammner from Leipzig-Lindenau took on the drafts, static calculations and construction management. With small tectures, the plans were implemented from May and implemented by September of that year, the second half of the house not until 1905. At the beginning of 1997, the approval for renovation and modernization under monument protection law was granted. The picturesque appearance of the sibling house is due in particular to the neo-renaissance gables, different window formats, visible frameworks on the upper floor and the moving roof landscape. A wide front garden supports the street-side effect of the detached semi-detached house, most of the furnishings have been preserved. For the twin house, which is effective in the street, an architectural and site development historical value was determined; there is also a direct visual relationship to the Catholic Church in Pestalozzistraße 17. 1898 (villa) Plastered facade with brick structure, important from an architectural point of view

A country house was built in 1898 for the Böhlitz-Ehrenberg accountant and businessman Max Prager on a corner plot of land on today's Pestalozzistraße. Design and execution were probably the responsibility of the local mason Aug. Schirmer. In 1979 repair work is recorded in the building file, renovation work probably in the 1990s. The two-part structure with a plastered facade over rubble stone plinth shows ideas of the Heimat style and marks the beginning of Entsbergerstraße, which is important in terms of urban planning and is characterized by villas and country houses with front gardens. In the gable formerly an open space, on the roof artfully designed lightning rods and chimneys. Vestibule at the front door and formerly a veranda to the garden. LfD / 2007

Administration building (with chimney), loading ramp (with canopy) and front garden Fabrikstrasse 21
(map)
1940–1943 (administration building) Plastered facade, administration building (full basement with boiler room and chimney), as a factory site of the Mädler company and a structural document from the immediate war years 1941–1943, the building is of architectural and historical value, as well as being of local historical importance and memorable

The simply plastered façade of a single-storey building is quite inconspicuous, with an oversized, eight-meter-high clinker chimney over a rectangular floor plan. The property, which formerly belonged to the landowner Paul Franke, was acquired by Berger & Wirth KG and sold to Edgar Moritz Mädler for 39,400 RM in 1940, with the note “that the property was in an excellent location in the industrial area”. A necessary expansion of the well-known suitcase and leather goods factory Mädler, which temporarily produced in Lindenau and had the famous Mädler Passage built in Leipzig's inner city in 1912, was carried out in secrecy as a “special construction program of the Air Force”. In addition to Leipzig, the company had its own stores in Berlin, Hamburg, Görlitz, Offenbach aM and Plauen. Gradually, the 110-man workforce was to be relocated to the new factory and "the old company was gradually shut down". In June 1941, the construction plans were submitted, signed by the renowned architect Emil Franz Hänsel and his office partner Dr. Engineer Gero Schilde (also site manager), work began a few days later. The permission to use was granted on February 18, 1943. Among other things, leather covers for pilot seats were also manufactured. A conceived porter's house and a garage with four spaces were not implemented, but a large bicycle and a smaller motor vehicle shed, a box store and a transformer room were created. Both the wall thicknesses and the reinforced concrete structures inside, together with a reinforced concrete ceiling, point to the plan to later add additional floors to the administration and office building, in which storage and social rooms were also arranged. In the basement there was a large boiler room as well as a shelter for around 110 people, which was initially available as a cloakroom and washing facilities. For the time "after the war", the administration building was planned to be increased by up to three storeys and to be extended - as was the factory hall. The production hall adjoining the ground floor building on the street side measured 30 by 40 meters and was created as a low-rise building with no basement in wood construction with a standing skylight. After the expropriation of the Mädler company, the production process was continued as VEB (B) Leipziger Feinlederwarenfabrik Böhlitz-Ehrenberg or VEB Vereinigte Kleinlederwarenbetriebe Böhlitz-Ehrenberg, various conversions and extensions took place on the factory premises and demolitions after the shutdown. Renovation work by a private owner from Böhlitz-Ehrenberg began at the end of 2012. As a factory site for the Mädler company and a structural document from the immediate war years 1941–1943, the building is of architectural and historical value, as well as of local historical significance and memorable value. 1901 (tenement) Plastered clinker facade, gate passage, gate passage door and interior fittings from the time of construction, of architectural significance

On April 17, 1901, the royal administration received an application for the construction of a house and an outbuilding from Otto Mertens. Master builder Hermann Heßner was available for the execution. The final examination took place in December. Behind the plastered facade on the ground floor and clinker brick on the upper floors were two apartments with a forecourt, kitchen and three rooms. There was also a passage to the facility on the ground floor for the rear house access. As is typical of the street, a front garden with an enclosure is in front of the property. Modern art nouveau decorations made of stucco are added to the façade scheme developed in historicism , such as panels with flowers and foliage in the mirrors above the windows on the piano nobile, consoles in the eaves area and, somewhat smaller, cast consoles under the sills of the two upper floors. Refurbishment in 2000 with a balcony on the courtyard side and largely original preservation of the mansard zone of the roof. Details of the equipment have been preserved. As a testament to the multi-storey tenement building at the turn of the 20th century, the house has a historical value. LfD / 2017, 2019

1935, double apartment building (apartment building) Plastered facade, one of the few originally preserved houses in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg from the 1930s, value for documentation and building history

As one of the few multi-storey residential buildings from the 1930s in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg, the double apartment building with commercial unit was built in 1935 based on designs by the local architect Rudolf Baraniak. He was also the owner of one half of the house; property number 45 belonged to the master baker Otto Löffler from Bernau near Berlin. The houses were recognized as tax-exempt small housing developments. A total of eleven apartments and a larger shop extension (checkout rooms) were built on three floors; the attic apartments that were also applied for resulted in a lengthy dispute with the approval authorities. The plastered façade rises above a high plinth made of Rochlitz porphyry tufa, which is accentuated in particular by the glass bands of the stairwells, which are framed with narrow porphyry tuff panels and round the top. An initial draft that was obligatory for the Bauhaus was not implemented in full, but instead a variant that was somewhat conservative in comparison. The building, including the furnishings, has largely been preserved in its original state and also documents that the main street should be expanded with multi-storey residential and commercial buildings. 1912 (tenement) Plastered facade, building of the reform style period with a half-timbered construction on the upper floor, which is significant in terms of building history and local development

Master carpenter Friedrich Franz Pfeiffer acted as financier, executor and construction manager in one person for the three-storey rental apartment building, who probably commissioned government builder Lubowski to draw the plans. The building erected in 1912 in what was then Carolastraße with a laundry room in the basement and two apartments on all floors with two rooms, a corridor, a kitchen and a chamber. Toilets were planned to be halfway up the stairs, and balconies were arranged for the left row of apartments. The plastered façade, characterized by the Heimat style, with a wide central projectile, concisely decorated with visible frameworks, the staircase and apartment doors have been preserved in the original, as is the ceiling painting in the right ground floor apartment of the master builder Pfeiffer. The construction carried out differs in details from the plans initially applied for. In the rear of the property in the years 1920/1921, a small stable building with tool shed was built by the aforementioned. The house has a historical and local development history, and as the home of the master builder Pfeiffer, a personal historical value is to be assigned. LfD / 2012, 2016

(map)
1897 (house), 1898 (wash house in the garden) Brick facade, with veranda to the garden, of architectural significance

The execution of the building application submitted in January 1897 for a “country house” by the couple Friedrich Oswald Klemm and Marie Wilhelmine, née. Drosse took place until October of the same year. The local master mason August Schirmer was responsible. A renovation and extension planned in 1913 by the building contractor Hermann Berg was delayed and should then "only be carried out after the war". The red brick building with dividing elements in yellow clinker is unique in form and design in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg. The house, designed a little differently than drawn in the submitted plans (including flat arches instead of straight lintels), has a picturesque appearance. In addition to the house staircase, only three rooms per floor, the original furnishings largely preserved. LfD / 2006

1904–1905 (tenement house) Corner shop, plastered clinker facade, building that shapes the street image in a prominent urban location, of importance in terms of building history

The Lindenau architect Hermann Knaus provided the design for the three-storey "corner residential building plus wash house", and the builder and contractor was August Schirmer, the master mason. For the years of construction 1904–1905, the clinker plaster facade appears to be quite traditional - the influences of Art Nouveau are almost entirely absent. Characteristics are the broken corner and flat risalits, the planned corner bay was not implemented. Parts of the simple furnishings have been preserved. A product store was housed in the corner store for a longer period of time, three apartments per floor. The triad with the opposite houses at Pestalozzistraße 54 and 49 is interesting from an urban planning point of view. Renovation 2006. LfD / 2006

1937–1938 (residential building) Typical two-family house of the time, of local and architectural importance, as the living and working place of the important composer Johannes Weyrauch (1897–1977), the building is significant in terms of personal history

The two-family house on a plot of land in the corner of Gundolaweg was the residence of Cantor Johannes Weyrauch from 1938 to 1972, who studied at the Leipzig Conservatory and is considered one of the most famous German composers of the 20th century. Folk and choral songs received special attention, along with numerous compositions for organ, as well as an Easter passion music. Weyrauch was church music cantor at the Heilandskirche Plagwitz and the Leipzig Luther Church at Johannapark. In 1946 he was appointed to the University of Music in Leipzig as a lecturer and in 1953 received a professorship for theory and composition. With the residential building on an angled floor plan in the Gundorfer settlement, his residential building has been preserved as an authentic place of a well-known personality in music history. The building file names Marie Henriette Luise, married Weyrauch as a building contractor in 1937/1938 and Arthur Blockwitz from Leipzig-Schleußig as the building manager. “Since the building program required a single-storey residential building with a converted roof of a rural character, the gable was provided with a gable roof so that the roof surfaces would not have to be torn too much ... The outer surfaces are provided with trowel plaster and stained. The roof is covered with beaver tails. ”The construction business Albin Zehmisch, owner of the master builder Paul Zehmisch, took over the execution in 1938, in the time window 2010/2012 the house was renovated and its appearance changed slightly. Significant in terms of person history, location and building history. LfD / 2013

1923–1924 (villa) Plastered facade, prominent building certificate of the villa colony Gundorf, historical value, of architectural significance

For the Lindenau factory owner Friedrich Hörig (jam, canning and artificial honey factory), building lawyer Richard Wagner from Leipzig designed a two-storey house, which is more like a country house in terms of type and location. The architect received a silver medal at IFA Leipzig in 1913 and designed the Connewitz parish hall in 1927. Later owners of the property were businessman Paul Ranke (glassworks representatives) and businessman Rudolf Martschink. Building application August 10, 1923, final inspection on April 19, 1924, then application for approval for the enclosure and completion of a porch above the staircase (1925). The construction project was also to be examined by the State Canal Building Authority in Leipzig (Elster-Saale Canal) with regard to a possible obstacle to the waterway project. There are two plastered residential floors above the red-brown clinker base, on the left there is an extension with a garage on the basement level, a kitchen balcony and winter garden on the ground floor and a terrace on the upper floor. A high, tiled mansard roof is particularly effective because of the building line that is relatively deep into the property. The facade is structured by double-leaf wooden shutters and sparse Art Deco decoration. Detailed drawings of the enclosure with artificial stone pillars enable a desirable reconstruction. Formerly on the ground floor dining room and master room with cloakroom, vestibule, hall and toilet, on the upper floor the actual living rooms. The equipment is partially preserved. LfD / 2006

1934–1935 (residential building) Historical and documentation value, part of the Böhlitz-Ehrenberg housing estate, significant architectural testimony to private residential construction, plastered facade, home of the architect Curt Schiemichen , of architectural significance

The single-storey single-family house was commissioned by Leipziger Heimbau GmbH in 1934 and 1935 based on a design and under the supervision of the architect Curt Schiemichen. The construction work was in the hands of the Göhren building contractor Walter Reiher. A garage was conditionally approved on July 30th, and the living and dining rooms were enlarged between 1939 and 1943. A 'rough, natural-colored cement mortar plaster' was chosen for the plastering of the honeycomb-built house. A sober building with a taste of the time was created over a rectangular floor plan. French windows and a three-part door on the rear face not only enabled good lighting in the rooms, but also a charming transition to the garden, mediated by a larger terrace. A high hipped roof and folding shutters on the windows are reminiscent of design ideas from the garden city movement. The equipment included a central hot water heating system and a domestic sewage treatment plant. After completion, Curt Schiemichen moved into the house himself (formerly Gottschedstrasse 44).
