(map)
around 1810 (farmhouse) Upper floor of the residential building, partly in half-timbered construction, of significance in terms of building history

A small courtyard was built around 1810 on the narrow but rather deep plot of land with the location list number 6 - the house should still date from this time. Stable, residential house, barn can be seen on a parcel plan from 1840, but the farm buildings underwent changes or completely new construction. Lehmweller on the ground floor of the house, the eaves protruding quite far, the half-timbered wall facing the neighboring property and the roof truss are evidence of the time of construction. Most of the windows were enlarged later, the internal staircase has been preserved. At the rear, a barn that appears small, but is spacious on the inside, closes off the property; its gable borders the barn on Rundkapellenweg 30, which is only slightly larger in area Beet cellar and hayloft (2018 in poor structural condition) - adjoining it is a smaller pigsty and, in turn, a wash house with a pigeon floor is joined, in front of which there is a well. Behind the rear gate of the barn there is a generous garden area. The barn and outbuildings are likely to have been built between 1870 and 1900 (no building files), the courtyard paving has been preserved. There is a historical value in terms of building history and local development. LfD / 2017, 2018

Triangulation column Schkorlopper Strasse -
(map)
marked 1865 (2nd order) Second order station, significant testimony to geodesy of the 19th century, of significance in terms of surveying history

The point Grenzhübel was on the property of the Count of Hohenthal-Knauthain in the corner of the Saxon-Prussian border, northwest of the village. The landowner issued the building permit without signing a further contract in a letter dated October 8, 1865. The first geodetic measurements were carried out in August 1868, which were later expanded and supplemented during the city survey of Leipzig. The station stood in its original location until the mid-1980s. Then well construction work was carried out in the area and movable irrigation systems were installed. Since the height of the pillar was disturbing, it was turned down. The founding document was probably lost. The construction of the A 38 motorway fundamentally changed the original location of the column since the late 1990s. The Grenzhübel was practically cut through. Probably the bottom three stones were also lost. The upper pillar and the cover plate could be secured by residents in the years of change. Its cleaning and restoration took place in 2007 at the instigation of the city of Leipzig. A reconstruction at the original location was refused by the tenant. The pillar is therefore now in the center of Knautnaundorf. In the period 1862 to 1890, a state survey was carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony, in which two triangular networks were formed. On the one hand, there is the network for grade measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony (network I. class / order) with 36 points and the royal Saxon triangulation (network II. Class / order) with 122 points. This national survey was led by Prof. Christian August Nagel, according to which the triangulation columns are also called "Nagelsche columns". This surveying system was one of the most modern layer networks in Germany. The surveying columns set for this purpose remained almost entirely in their original locations. They are an impressive testimony to the history of land surveying in Germany and in Saxony. The system of surveying columns of both orders is in its entirety a cultural monument of supraregional importance. LfD / 2014
