1914-1915 (number 18, apartment building), 1915-1916 (number 16, apartment building) | Plastered facade, reform style architecture, important in terms of building history
As is typical of the street, the two-story building was built with only three floors, with a larger mid-sized dwelling behind which there was an apartment for each half of the building. Two rental units were planned for each house on all other floors (still AWC). The builder and master mason Richard Max Hauschild acted as the client, Karl Feistel (number 16) as the designing architect and the architect Heinrich Lindemann for number 18, and the master mason Bernhard Oehlert as the building manager. Due to the obligation to implement it "according to a uniform plan", the building looks like it has been cast from one piece, but it was built in two phases from April 1914 to March 1915 (number 18) and from April 1915 to the end of May 1916 (number 16). In 1998/1999, the renovation and further loft extensions were in one hand. Only the triangular roofs of the house entrances have neo-baroque stucco decor, otherwise different plaster structures loosen up the strict facade. The plastering of the former exposed clinker plinth is regrettable, as it created an important color contrast to the red-colored tile roof, the eaves box, which was definitely painted in color, and the monochrome façade frame. Parts of the equipment have been preserved. The semi-detached house in the closed street has an architectural value. LfD / 2017 |

Residential house in open development, with fencing and gate entrance | Ossietzkystraße 20 (map) |
1883-1884 (residential house) | Reduced plastered facade, former poor house, erected as a monastery building by the Schönefeld children's sanctuary, of significance in terms of local development
As "a monastery building ... to accommodate and entertain old, poor ... people", the two-storey house, set back from today's street, was built between March 1883 (building application) and May 1884 (notification of completion and final examination) on behalf of the association Die Kinderbewahranstalt . It was signed for the non-profit-oriented association founded in June 1877 by the board of directors Ludwig Rothe and Ernst Bergmann as recorder. The Leipzig architect Max Bösenberg was commissioned, who, in addition to the design drawings, also took on the execution and construction management. It was not until 1874 that Bösenberg settled in his native Leipzig as an independent architect, and to this day he is one of the most important and well-known architects in the trade fair city. In 1992 the application for the establishment of a four-room apartment under the roof was submitted and in 1998 the rear was to be given a new coat of paint. The plastered building above the Cyclops masonry plinth has been robbed of the framing window frames, the central projection is missing the final gable cross on the small gable. A gable roof, formerly covered with slate, completes the building, and the fencing also contributes to the appearance of the property. In addition to its socio-historical value and the architectural history aspect, the house is also of interest in terms of personal history: it complements the series of previously known buildings designed by Max Bösenberg and, with the construction of the poor house, shows a new interesting aspect in his oeuvre. The building, which was one day dedicated to charitable purposes, is a logical addition to the parish hall and kindergarten ensemble in the vicinity of the church, castle and imperial post office. Apartment building in closed development and in a corner | Paul-Heyse-Strasse 1 (map) |
1910-1911 (tenement house) | with shops, plastered façade, two box oriels, reform style architecture, historically important
Paul-Heyse-Straße 1, 3, 5, district Schönefeld-Abtnaundorf. In February 1910, the master builder and architect Friedrich Wilhelm Max Linke, who lived in Schönefeld, submitted his own building applications for each of the three apartment buildings on Planstrasse A, which later became Nostitz-Wallwitz-Strasse. In the person of Linke, the builder and the executor also merged, for this reason the building authorities' demand for the formation of a farm community "for all times" meant no circumstances whatsoever. Difficulties, however, caused the loft extension planned for a house man's apartment at number 5 - it was initially rejected from the point of view of the health police “with regard to the high density of housing in Schönefeld”. On the other hand, the community board, for example, advocated the establishment of an attic apartment in the corner house, as it would also enable “a tasteful design of the facade”. The houses were completed in the early summer of 1911. The corner building received two shops, and a courtyard extension with a bakery was built for the business premises in house number 5 by 1914. The simple, plain plastered facades of the four-storey tenement houses are based on the reform style architecture and show only a few structural elements made of plaster or artificial stone, the representative character is nevertheless created by the harmonious facade division and the small, undeveloped, decorative square opposite. Art Nouveau details show the fully original furnishings of the houses. LfD / 2006 |

1914 (tenement) | Plastered facade, residential building in a closed street, reform style architecture, with architectural and site development value
The width of the property on the street front, on which a tenement house was built by bricklayer Oswald Bley with his own financing, measures 14.70 meters. The architects Rau and M. May contributed plans for the company. On the ground floor there was an apartment with a shop as well as a normal residential unit for furnishing, while on the upper floors two apartments each had to be furnished with a living room, a chamber, two further rooms, a kitchen and a balcony facing the courtyard, as well as a hallway and bathroom. The toilets, however, were still on the landing in the stairwell. In 1919, Bley also issued a building application for an attic apartment (design by architect Arno Höfer), but received a negative decision. It was not until 1924 that an emergency apartment was allowed to be set up under the roof, the use of which was initially limited to five years. In 1924/1925 Bley / Höfer built a rolling building in the courtyard. The well-balanced reform style facade has a four-axis central projection above the ground floor, which is structured like a pilaster. Artificial stone reliefs complement the plaster structures, the sprouting of the windows and the house entrance also contribute to the design. Most of the furnishings have been preserved, but the black slate "box" of the attic apartment is disturbing. The building in the closed, preserved street is a historically important part of the Schönefeld expansion area. LfD / 2014 |

Apartment building in closed development and in a corner | Scheumannstrasse 6 (map) |
1914-1915 (tenement) | with corner shutter, plastered facade with bay windows, reform style architecture, of importance in terms of building history
Three drafts annually from 1912 onwards, submitted by architect G. Emil Reiche, were discarded and only a plan by architect Alfred Nitzschke from Leipzig-Stötteritz in 1914, reduced in decor and liveliness of the facade, was implemented. The date of March 10, 1915 is under the protocol of the final examination, the building site was acquired by the owner of a building contractor Julius Schneeweiß from the Ebersteinsche Mariannenstiftung. Mighty oriels characterize the effectively situated corner building, the corner of which was only broken on the ground floor and here has access to a shop. An important function for the appearance of the plastered facades, which are committed to the reform style, is taken over by the windows with their small-scale structure and the valances of the blinds that were formerly attached to the entire facade. There are three apartments on each floor, the laundry room in the basement. For the attic apartment, which was not intended for use, but had already been furnished, an application was made in the summer of 1918 to release it for residential purposes. The property owner was now Helene Margarete Burkhardt, who was divorced from Fuchs, née Fuchs. Black. Initially only approved as an emergency apartment, in 1926 approval as a permanent apartment could be obtained, in 1930 the architect and builder Richard Glass submitted the plan for a second apartment under the roof, which, however, was not implemented. In 1962, the conversion of the store to residential purposes was requested and approved, but not carried out. In 1995/1996 drafts for renovation and expansion work by Dipl.-Ing. E. Bornschein from Plan & Objekt GmbH for Frohmann & Götz GbR from Berlin. Corner building in the extension area, significant in terms of building history and site development. LfD / 2013, 2014 |

1912 (tenement) | Plastered facade, reform style architecture, important in terms of building history
Formerly the 420 square meter property belonged to the Ebersteinschen Mariannenstiftung, at the beginning of December 1911 the building application was made by the chief postman Otto Stein (Schönefeld, Stöckelstrasse 5) for a residential building to be built with a washhouse extension. Architect and builder Richard Glass took on the design and construction management, while the builder was Carl Emil Vogel. Bricklayer foreman Karl Fischer from Dölitz was entrusted with supervision on site. Two apartments were set up on each floor with three living rooms, a kitchen, a corridor and toilets in the stairwell. The top floor did not have an apartment, but a bathroom for the residents and a separate second bathroom for the landlord. The final test was carried out in autumn 1912, and further construction work on the street side halted for a few years. In 1921 the approval for the installation of an attic apartment was issued. Further expansion under the roof and the "complex repairs" were carried out from 1995 to 1997 by Leipziger Wohnungs- und Baugesellschaft mbH. The building, which was initially free for years, has a plastered façade that rises above an artificial stone base with geometric reform style decor, five decorative panels, a front door frame and slightly protruding side projections. Parts of the preserved furnishings are remarkable. For the building in the style of reform architecture, an architectural historical value can be ascertained. LfD / 2016, 2017 |
