For private man (Gustav) Franz Friedrich, the master builder and architect Paul Friedrich built a representative tenement house with two shops and a single-storey courtyard building for office purposes in 1911–1912. The front residential building was created as a plastered building with a representative entrance portal, two polygonal cores extending over all upper floors, which end in exits for the attic apartments. A six-axis roof house and two round arched dormers show the intensive residential use in the roof area, plaster reliefs with figurative representations on the roof house (copies). On each floor there are two apartments with a corridor, kitchen with pantry and exit, bathroom, bedroom and two or three other living rooms. 1966 Conversion of a shop for residential purposes, extensive renovation probably in the years 1997–1999 with the expansion of the second shop into an apartment. The furnishings have largely been preserved; the generously designed, representative entrance area is of particular interest. The picturesque courtyard building was intended as an architecture studio and had a separate office room (demolished in 2001). The floor plan of two garden designs on the property, which has been preserved in the building file, is rare in tenant house construction. LfD / 2007

Across from a public green area, the new free-standing residential building was built in 1905, with two apartments per floor. In addition to the merchant Friedrich Robert Klotzsch, owner of a “mortgage and real estate bureau”, the building owners were the authorized signatory Fritz Pönicke, the tobacco dye shop owner Theodor Kniesche and the landlord Johann Karl Schütze. The gentlemen recruited the architect W. Becker for the design and construction supervision. The generosity of the interior design is evident on the elaborate street facade, the high hipped roof of which experiences a formative movement through the gable of the gable and the tiled tower roof above the stand core. A balcony (two on the plans), clamped between the stand bay windows and arranged in the middle above the entrance portal, sets a further accent on the street side. Art Nouveau decor, different types of plaster and the partial use of exposed framework represent the taste of the time, terraces in front of the living rooms with stairs to the front garden reinforce the villa impression of the house. Each apartment has an entrance hall, bathroom, separate toilet, kitchen with exit, bedroom, nursery, living room, salon with bay window, maid's room and, on the right-hand side, an additional men's room with exit. After approval of a modified version of the attic apartment for the househusband, the final acceptance could take place in March 1906. Refurbishment, conversion and further loft extensions are in the second half of the 1990s. The splendid, rental-villa-like building in a prestigious location has a historical, artistic and historical value. LfD / 2014

After the owner changed in October 1906, the appearance of the effective corner residential building with a noble plastered facade under construction was significantly changed by the architect Richard Welz. Just over a year earlier, master carpenter Friedrich Pieper, the client, had submitted a rather staid-looking historicist drawing on which a tentative approach to Art Nouveau can be seen. The builder and architect William Jonas and his colleague Richard Heine are named. From 1906 Welz and the contracted master bricklayer Friedrich Otto Rothmann as executors. In October 1907 the merchant Gottfried Gustav Albert Finzel applied for the final acceptance as the client. Construction of the enclosure on what was then Bleichertstrasse also in 1907, in the following year wooden verandas were added on the east gable, in 1911 a househusband's apartment was installed in the attic, and in 1927 a shop was installed next to the house entrance. In 1946 a building application for the restoration of the property was issued under the leadership of the architect OM Rothmann for the owner Max Schöne, who lived in the house. Basic repairs between 1963 and 1969 based on plans by civil engineer Willy Stürmer. The traditional, original furnishings are of particular interest in terms of monument preservation, including doors with cut glass, lead-glazed staircase windows, wall stucco in the entrance area and in the apartments. Town-planning effective corner building with special handcrafted interior design, of importance in terms of building history. LfD / 2011

1910–1911 (tenement house) Smoothed plastered facade with plastered structures, interior equipment details in the reform style around 1910, of importance in terms of local development

Messrs. Albin Curt Gerhardt and Ernst Bruno Max Emil Müglitz, who was also named for construction management and execution, stood for the construction of a two-horse apartment building at what was then Roonstrasse 36. However, the undertaking that began in autumn 1910 stalled after the shell had been completed. From August 1911, the property neighbor and new owner, Fritz Sturtevant, owner of a timber trade, pushed for completion by mid-October. Paul Germanus took over the construction with a slightly different facade. The completely plastered residential building with an axially symmetrical façade structure across all four residential floors is particularly effective due to the close row of the tall rectangular windows; a windowsill cornice on the first floor sets a strong horizontal accent. A dwarf house with four windows and a round arched gable leads the facade over the eaves on the left. The roof house on the right and the plastic windows were annoying as part of the renovation. The interior is richer than the external appearance, as indicated by the elegant front door with the clover-leaf-shaped lead-glazed skylight. LfD / 2017, 2018

1911–1912 (tenement) Plastered facade in the reform style around 1910, plaster and artificial stone incorporations as well as accentuating plaster decor, side dwelling, of importance in terms of local development and architectural history

Paul Germanus was under contract as the designing architect and executor for the construction of an apartment building in what was then Roonstrasse: the timber dealer Georg Fritz Sturtevant is named for the client. On June 29, 1911, an application was made to start construction and the final revision was announced on January 18, 1912. Behind the solid, axially symmetrical plastered façade on the residential floors, there were two apartments with four rooms, a corridor, a kitchen with pantry, a courtyard-facing balcony and podium toilets. The roof is marked on the right by an attached four-axle roof house. It was not until October that plans for the modified facade structure were submitted to the building supervisory authorities. Repairs to the plaster and partial new plastering took over the construction business from Otto Enke in 1937. In June 1998 the monument protection permit for renovation, loft extensions and elevator installation was issued. The facade reliefs show fruits, plants, masks and putti with palm branches as decorative elements. The house has a noble front door frame made of artificial stone elements, decorative wall tiles in the entrance area, the front door and the stairwell are representative of the original parts of the furnishings that have been preserved. A historical value in terms of building history and district development history is to be assigned to the elegant-looking reform style building. LfD / 2014

1902–1903 (tenement house) Plastered facade in original Art Nouveau forms, main front with a round core at the side and curved gable, templates on the side fronts, architect: Paul Möbius, of importance in terms of local development, architectural and architectural design

The architect Paul Möbius planned a prestigious apartment building for the building contractor Oskar Mette, who played a key role in the structural development in Gohlis-Mitte before the First World War. The building application was submitted in December 1902 and construction was completed just under a year later. In 1918 the house passed into the possession of Hermann Oskar Barth from Jena, and finally Mrs. Ida Schubert, née. Seiferth, 1937 the property. In 1994/1995 there was a less sensitive renovation of the house with the expansion of the attic. The building is characterized by two round bay windows on the side and a segmented gable that extends the central area of the facade into the attic. The large central window in the attic is an innovative form solution from Möbius. The natural stone cladding of the base zone, which also includes the house entrance door, horizontal profiles of the window parapets, pilaster strips and a wide valley on the eaves give the building additional accents. The formal vocabulary was also used in a reduced form on the other facades. The apartments corresponded to a high standard of living: not only were several rooms, which were also connected to one another, and a chamber, but also a bathroom and a toilet grouped around an “antechamber”. The special artistic value results from the design work of the Leipzig architect Paul Möbius. The design of the facade and the arrangement of the interior give the house a special architectural significance, while the context of its development gives it a historical significance. LfD / 2011

The four-story tenement house, built in 1904 and occupied by tenants in spring 1905, stands in a closed row. The area was first subdivided into building blocks P and U by Messrs Robert Röthig and C. Harz in 1899, immediately after the local law was passed. For the residential building in a closed row, architect and government builder Richard Kloberg took on the planning tasks on behalf of the privateer Robert Uhlig, A. Tautz signed the execution. The arrangement of the stairwell resulted in two apartments of different sizes on each floor, the flush toilets of which were still halfway up the stairs. In mid-1967, the building application for the plastering of the front and the extension of the top floor was issued (the apartment was completed in 1969). The North-East repair base presented the planning for this, and the PGH 5th Party Congress was to take over the execution. Renovation, new loft extension, courtyard-side balcony extension as well as changes to the floor plans in 1999 and 2000 to 2001. A comparison with photos from 1967 shows a regrettable partial reduction in the plaster and structure structures on the street side. A roof house with a neo-baroque-art nouveau style that was once attached to the left has been lost, the standing dormers from the last modernization phase and the embarrassingly simplified eaves zone appear strange. Parts of the high-quality furnishings have been preserved, including the Art Nouveau front door and stencil painting in the entrance area. The Art Nouveau building is of architectural interest. 1903–1904 (tenement house) Late historical clinker brick facade with artificial stone and plaster structures, of importance in terms of local development and architectural history

A first project by master builder Hermann Wenzel on the site in 1899 did not come to fruition. Master carpenter Friedrich August Zeidler took up the facade design in 1903, but now planned three instead of the two previously planned apartments per floor: with one room, two chambers, kitchen and corridor as well as privets in the stairwell. After a shell inspection in October 1903, the property was foreclosed in May 1904. The construction was completed by September 1904 under several rapidly changing owners, with architect Franz Voigtsberger involved. To the right of the front door, a shop installation was planned in 1905, in 1924 an apartment on the top floor, and in 1920 the construction of a new one in the courtyard. In 1996 the application for a renovation / modernization and further attic expansion is dated, in 2015 the construction of new balconies on the courtyard side. A ground floor with fine plaster grooves slides between the facing brick plinth and the upper floors of the street-side facade, which are also clad with yellow panels. They are structured by emphasizing the two middle floors with rich decor under the influence of Art Nouveau, arched and triangular roofing of the windows in the middle and the two outer window axes, the eaves zone is unfortunately simplified and smoothed, the original house entrance door has not been preserved. The house is a structural testimony in the Gohlis planning area of the town's expansion, has a building and district development historical value. LfD / 2018

(map)
1928–1929 (garage courtyard) two hall complexes with passageways and formerly skylight glazing, gate driveway plastered pillars and iron gate, remarkable garage facility of great rarity, of importance in terms of building history and technology

The garage courtyard is located in the courtyard area of a block surrounded by closed buildings between Otto-Adam-, Heinrich-Plesse-, Rudi-Opitz- and Heinrich-Budde-Straße. The approach is from Heinrich-Plesse-Straße. The complex, which was built in two construction phases in 1928/29, consists of 40 individual garages, which are divided into two hall complexes of 20 garages each. The halls are one behind the other and are connected by a passage. Your courtyard areas are roofed with a steel framework and an intervening stone iron ceiling (also known as a zomak ceiling). A simple framework connects the upper and lower chords. The formerly existing skylights (exposure triangles) were destroyed in the war and not rebuilt, so that the roofing is missing in these places. The two construction phases can be recognized by the execution of the ceiling construction. The front courtyard that was created first shows - due to the greater width between the garage rows - an elaborate steel framework with purlins. The original garage doors (double-leaf wooden doors with raised skylights) are partly still in the original. The doors in the rear row of garages in the second courtyard have been completely renewed; the steel doors there presumably date from the 1950s. Some garages have been converted into a double garage. Also worth mentioning is the small pavement, which has been preserved in the entire complex despite the partial concrete cover. The garage courtyard is a vivid and rare testimony to the development of traffic history in the first half of the 20th century. It bears witness in a significant way to the increasing number of private vehicles in the 1920s, which on the one hand brought people more mobility, but with them on the other environmentally harmful influences were already connected. The courtyard areas were roofed over in accordance with the requirements of the building authorities at the time to “avoid impairment of the neighborhood”. For both hygienic and architectural reasons, the construction of a garage courtyard was considered to be the cheapest of the options under discussion. Under the aspects mentioned, the object embodies both a building-historical and technical-historical value. LfD / 2014

In 1903, architect Alfred Lutze designed the solid tenement building for private man Gustav Curt Wiedemann from Leipzig-Volkmarsdorf. The mason foreman Wilhelm Blödel was responsible for the construction management, and the mason August Ernst Leopold Kruse was responsible for the execution. The latter was named a few months later as the landowner before Johanna Margarethe verw. In a foreclosure proceedings in 1904. Nickau born Meier was awarded the contract. In 1907 the owner was the postal assistant Friedrich Alwin Scheibe from Leipzig-Neustadt, and in 1934 the paymaster Gustav Arthur Lauschke. Repairs of the roof drainage as well as on the facade front and new plastering of the courtyard side on behalf of VEB KWV 1949. Building application for repair, modernization, conversion and loft extension 1995 by Michael Johann Pömmerl / MUP Grundstücksverwertungsgesellschaft mbH. Axially symmetrical clinker brick facade with plastered ground floor and molded parts made of artificial stone. The formal language with a careful approach to Art Nouveau. Renovation that is partly unsatisfactory in terms of monument preservation, the equipment is partly preserved, including the wooden staircase, courtyard and toilet doors in the staircase, the front door and Art Nouveau decoration. For the house there is a historical building and district development value. LfD / 2009, 2018

1935 (tenement) with shop and passage, plastered facade, evidence of social housing construction of the 1930s, of architectural significance

Architect Fritz Riemann took over the construction management and static discussion during the execution of his own designs, on behalf of master baker Willy Popendicker from Lindenthal. The building application for the residential building with bakery was submitted in March 1935, the final examination was carried out on the last day of the same year and almost three months later it was recognized as a tax-exempt small apartment building. The construction business FH Heine from Dölitz could be won over for the execution. All those named so far were involved in the construction of a free-standing laundry roll building in the courtyard from 1937 to 1939. A shop apartment could be rented on the ground floor, a service corridor was set up and a bakery extension was available on the courtyard side, while two tenants were available on the upper floors, with a bathroom / toilet and a loggia. Plans for an expansion of the bakery in 1979 and the roof extension in 1997/1998 are on record. Striking is an iron clinker plinth that extends to the lintels, into which the stepped front door portal falls and the bakery's shop zone with preserved advertising in individual raised letters. The remaining façade surfaces are plastered, with solid sill cornices summarizing the four central axes. On the left, a two-axle roof house is cleverly connected to the higher-level neighboring building 27/29, cleverly overlaying the transition from the four- to the five-storey structure, parts of the simple, elegant furnishings have been preserved. The remarkable residential building is a testimony to social housing construction in Leipzig in the 1930s and is of architectural importance. LfD / 2018
