On March 29, 1898, the “Stadtgemeinde Leipzig as administrator of the Fregeschen Foundation” applied for the construction of a “custody facility for neglected children”. Dr. Tröndlin signed the draft for a main building and a farm building (formerly No. 331a) drawn up by the city's building department in 1897. In addition to living rooms and dormitories, as well as the kitchen and teachers 'room, the teachers' apartments were located in the house. The floor space also accommodated a laundry depot and clothes closet, sick room, punishment cell and a “assistant chamber”. The washing and pigsty building at the rear is no longer available. In 1899, after completion, the "Frege Foundation building for morally endangered children" was registered with the fire insurance fund. The broad-based building, based on the schoolhouse type of the time, with a clinker brick facade, four-axis central projection with a dwelling and a spacious wooden veranda on the right-hand gable wall in front of the living rooms. Demolition of the clock tower with Welscher hood in 1966 in connection with a new roof covering. The plant formerly with a small designed park, larger garden areas, chicken yard and its own well as well as compost heap. Demolition of the building for additional parking spaces for the neighboring VW car dealership in 2007. The building application for a new residential building for the “Anstalt am Heiteren Blick” was signed by City Planning Director Otto Wilhelm Scharenberg in 1907 (today No. 331a). The villa-like building with a small veranda integrated into the structure, a multi-part roof landscape, half-timbered gable and an overall close design relationship to the main building. Activity rooms along with a tailor's room and storage rooms were set up in the basement, while the kitchen and rooms for about 30 boys were on the floor above. On the first floor there were two girls' chambers and rooms for the assistant teachers, and in 1914 it was converted into a pupil's dormitory. Even after the Second World War, no change in the original use (special children's home, youth education home, youth work center). 1997-1999 renovation of the smaller building and conversion into a guest house of the Gebr. Kamps company; later vacancy again with accompanying neglect.
