The Cham District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of 73 district courts in Bavaria . The court is housed in two buildings. The main building is located at Kirchplatz 13, the side building at Rindermarkt 2 in Cham .

history

With the administrative reorganization of Bavaria , the regional courts of the older order, responsible for administration and jurisdiction, were created in the area of ​​today's Cham, Kötzting, Roding and Waldmünchen districts. The district office of Cham was merged in 1862 as an administrative authority from the regional courts of the older order Cham and Furth im Wald (formed in 1838). The Cham Regional Court remained as the judicial authority and was transformed into the Cham District Court with the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act in 1879. The Furth im Wald branch of the Cham district court, established in 1973, was closed after 2005.

Area of ​​responsibility

The district court district of the court covers the entire district of Cham , in which about 129,000 people live. It is responsible for civil , family and criminal matters at first instance .
