The Mitterfels District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1973 and was based in Mitterfels .

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in Mitterfels with the same district as that of the Mitterfels regional court , which was repealed at the same time , made up of the former communities of Ascha , Au vorm Wald , Auggenbach , Bärnzell , Dachsberg , Eggerszell , Elisabethszell , englmar , Falk rock , Gaishausen , Gera cell , Gittensdorf , Gossersdorf , Gschwendt , Haibach , Haselbach , Haunkenzell , Heilbrunn , Mr. failure Burg , deer Bach , Konzell , Landasberg , Landorf , Loitzendorf , maize cell , Mitterfels, Neukirchen , Obermühlbach , Pilgramsberg , Prünstfehlburg , rats Berg , Rattiszell , Saulburg , Schönstein , Siegersdorf , Stallwang , Steinburg , Wiesenfelden and Zinzenzell .

This court was initially subordinate to the Straubing Regional Court in the Munich Higher Regional Court , but since April 1, 1932 it has belonged to the Regensburg Regional Court in the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court . In 1950 the judicial district extended over 31 of the 45 municipalities in the district of Bogen . They were: Ascha, Bärnzell, Dachsberg, Elisabethszell, Sankt Englmar, Falkenfels, Gaishausen, Gittensdorf, Gossersdorf, Haibach, Haselbach, Haunkenzell, Heilbrunn, Irschenbach, Konzell, Landasberg, Landorf, Loitzendorf, Mitterfels, Neukirchen, Obermühlbach, Prünstfehlburg, Rattenberg , Rattiszell, Saulburg, Schönstein, Siegersdorf, Stallwang, Steinburg, Wiesenfelden and Zinzenzell with a total of 23,124 inhabitants

When the law on the organization of the ordinary courts in the Free State of Bavaria (GerOrgG) came into force on July 1, 1973, the Mitterfels District Court was dissolved and incorporated into the district of the Straubing District Court .

The district court was located in the building at Burgstrasse 1, a building in the Mitterfels castle complex, which is now the seat of the Mitterfels administrative community . This two-storey large hipped roof building, the former nursing home, dates from the 18th century and is a listed building. The former meeting room of the court is located in the south-east corner of the building on the ground floor and is now used as the meeting room for the Mitterfels community. In the building at Burgstrasse 2 there were some associated prison cells that were used by the Mitterfels District Court until 1949.

From 1930 to 1942 Gustav Kelber was chief magistrate in Mitterfels.
