history

The SC SaFo Frankfurt was founded in 1861 as the "Frankfurt Ice Skating Club ". In 1904 he merged with the "Frankfurter Lawn Tennis Association" founded in 1898 to form the "Frankfurter Sportclub Forsthausstraße". As a typical citizen founded in the 19th century, it is the oldest German ice skating club and one of the oldest sports clubs in Frankfurt.

On January 2, 1872, the Frankfurt Ice Skating Club organized the first traditional speed skating competition in Germany. As early as the early 1930s, the ice hockey team took part in games of the southwest German championship.
