Chris Faust

Chris Faust (* 4. December 1968 in Frankfurt am Main ; actually Christopher Faust) is a German Hockey - trainer and coach. He was able to achieve national and international success with numerous teams.

After graduating from school with secondary school leaving certificate, Chris Faust was trained as a wholesale merchant and graduated from the technical college for economics with a degree in trade specialist IHK. He is also a certified trainer of the DOSB (German Olympic Sports Confederation), sports and club manager ( IHK ). Before starting his coaching career, he worked for Nestlé Germany for 10 years . Chris Faust has also been a speaker since 2015 and has published the children's book series "Die Hockey-Kids" together with the author Sabine Hahn (Volume 1: Casimir-Verlag, ISBN 978-3-94-0877-28-4 / Volume 2: MON COQ edition, ISBN 978-3-98-1797-04-6 ).

Athletic career

Since his early youth, since 1972 Chris Faust has been playing hockey, first with Eintracht Frankfurt , from 1978 with SC SAFO Frankfurt , was a Hessian youth selection player and took part in various Hessian as well as southern German and German championships.

When he reached the "active sports age" in 1985, he returned to Eintracht Frankfurt as a regional and national league player. After two cruciate ligament tears and various knee operations, he moved to SKG Frankfurt in 1989 , both as a player and coach of the Oberliga and Association league as well as the youth team.

In 1995 he returned to Eintracht Frankfurt and played one more season each in the 2nd Bundesliga and regional league, and was also an assistant coach for the women's and men's teams.

Trainer

1989-1995 he took up the coaching activity at SKG Frankfurt, coach of the Oberliga, Verbandsliga and youth team. Until 1998 he was assistant coach at Eintracht Frankfurt, women's hockey team and men's hockey team. From 1998 to October 2001 he was chief trainer of the Höchst THC, with whom he celebrated a number of promotions in the major and regional leagues. At the same time, he acquired the C, B and A license in the BLZ hockey in Cologne . In addition, from 1998 to 2004 he was state trainer in Hessen in the youth field.

From November 2001 to May 2002 he was player -coach at TGS Vorwärts Frankfurt and from July 2002 to March 2004 head coach at Limburger HC for the 1st and 2nd national league teams for men and youth.

From 2002 to 2004 he was assistant coach of the youth national team U16 male, with which he became European champion. During this time he took part in various DHB courses for all cadres - from U16, U18, U21 to the senior national team - as an assistant trainer and intern.

From 2003 to 2009 he was the sporting director of MTV Kronberg and from July 2004 until the team withdrew for financial reasons in October he was chief trainer of the SaFo Frankfurt men's regional league team, then, from November 2004 to June 2006, head -Trainer at SC 1880 Frankfurt for the women's team in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga as well as the youth, and from August 2006 to January 2008 he was the chief coach of the men at Limburger HC for the regional league and the 2nd Bundesliga. In 2007 he achieved 6th place as a special coach for the Australian women's national team at the Indoor World Cup in Vienna.

From 2007 to 2010 he completed his training as a qualified trainer at the DOSB trainer academy in Cologne, while he was head trainer for the Wiesbaden THC in the 2008/09 season, and a diploma position at SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the field of game analysis / game evaluation 2nd Bundesliga team occupied. His engagement as a trainer in the Hanauer THC, 1st women and 1st men, from April 2009 he had to end in September for health reasons. From October 2009 to September 2011 he was the club manager and sports director of HC Bad Homburg. From 2010 to 2011 he was the national coach of the Swiss U16 male. From August 2011 to February 2012 he was a coach in Mannheim HC for the girls' A team and the 2nd women and assistant coach of the 1st women. In 2011 he also took on the role of head coach for the Czech ladies. From 2011 to 2012 he was the coach of the Mannheimer HC, girls A, 2nd women, assistant trainer 1st women.

From 2012 to 2015 he was head coach and sports director for the Czech Hockey Federation. From March 2012 to July 2016 he was a full-time youth trainer at SaFo Frankfurt. From 2016 to 2017 he was head coach women at Münchner SC and from 2015 to 2017 head coach high performance at Swiss Hockey for the Swiss national hockey teams women and men. As head coach in the competitive sport of the Swiss Land Hockey Association , he was involved in coach training and conceptual work. After moving to Münchner SC in summer 2016, he had to take a burnout break from October and go into clinical treatment. He then returned to Frankfurt to his home club SaFo in spring 2017, where he has been the hockey coordinator ever since. Since November 2017 he has been the head coach women & U21 of the Austrian Hockey Association (ÖHV) . Due to his personal vita, Chris Faust has also been offering lectures on burnout prevention since autumn 2018.

International

At the indoor hockey world championship in 2007 in Vienna he reached 6th place as special coach of the Australian national hockey team for women . From August 2010 to 2011 he was national coach of the Swiss youth team U16 male. From December 2010 on he was head coach of the Czech national hockey team for women, with whom he reached a 6th place at the 2011 World Indoor Hockey Championships in Poznań / Poland.

From April 1, 2012 to August 31, 2015 he was head coach and sports director of the Czech Hockey Federation and, in addition to the bronze medal of the Indoor World Championships 2015, he also achieved the field promotion from B to A pool together with Ireland in July.

From September 1, 2015, he was the head coach of competitive sports for the Swiss Land Hockey Association and was also involved in coach training in order to install a long-term competitive sports concept there. With him, the men's national team managed to stay in the league in January 2016. The Swiss women were also promoted to the A-pool in January 2016 with Chris Faust.

Chris Faust took over the position of head coach women & U21 at the Austrian Hockey Association (ÖHV) in November 2017 . In January 2018, he was promoted back to the A Pool with the women in Brussels and was aiming for a long-term development program.

He is currently the trainer of the Austrian women's national team and oversaw an indoor handball project in England over the winter of 2019/2020. European Championship in Belarus 2020.
