Federal Performance Center
In Germany, a federal performance center (BLZ) is a state-financed, specialized training center for selected sports and their respective umbrella organizations. It primarily serves to train and promote top athletes (A, B and C cadres ) as well as to implement other promotional measures for high-performance sport that are the responsibility of leading associations. As a central course and training facility, the BLZ is an essential part of the training structure of the relevant umbrella organizations and enjoys high priority over other sports facilities. The first were founded by the Federal Committee for Competitive Sport, which was founded in 1969 .
In addition to the state training centers , the federal training centers and the Olympic training centers , the national training centers are a structural element within the base system for top-class German sport. Individual locations can carry out several base functions at the state and federal level at the same time.
