The Bavarian Olympic Training Center has been a cross-sport support and service facility for top-class sport since 1989, with a focus on all Olympic winter sports for national team athletes and their coaches.

history

In 1989 the Bavarian Olympic Training Center was founded by Olympiapark München GmbH . OSP Bayern is currently one of 18 German Olympic bases .

Outline and structure

Locations

The headquarters of the Bavarian Olympic Training Center is located at Spiridon-Louis-Ring 25 in the Munich Olympic Park , directly under the main grandstand of the Olympic Stadium.

There are also the regional centers: Allgäu (with Oberstdorf and Füssen), Augsburg, Chiemgau / Berchtesgadener Land, northern / metropolitan region Nuremberg (with Fürth and Erlangen) and the Garmisch-Partenkirchen branch.

Focus

OSP Bayern is the largest OSP in Germany with over 900 national team athletes.

The main sports are all Olympic winter sports as well as athletics, swimming, judo, taekwondo, wrestling, canoe slalom, shooting, tennis, table tennis, equestrian sports, volleyball, hockey and basketball.

Elite schools of sport

For the optimal promotion of children and young people who train in competitive sports in harmony with a high-quality school education, there are four elite schools for sports recognized by the DOSB ( CJD Christophorus Schools Berchtesgaden , Gertrud-von-le-Fort-Gymnasium Oberstdorf , Gymnasium München-Nord and Bertolt- Brecht School Nuremberg ). These each offer boarding school accommodation in the athletes' homes.
