The Freiburg-Black Forest Olympic Training Center has been a cross-sport support and service facility for top-class sport for national team athletes and their coaches since 1988 .

history

In 1988 the Freiburg-Black Forest Olympic base was founded by the State Sports Association (LSV) Baden-Württemberg . 10 years later, in 1998, the Olympic base was transferred to a newly founded sponsoring association based in Freiburg. In 2017, with the signing of the basic agreement “Olympiastützpunkte Baden-Württemberg” with the LSV, it was decided that the sponsorship of the OSP Freiburg-Black Forest would change back to the State Sports Association of Baden-Württemberg on January 1, 2018. In addition to the OSP Freiburg Black Forest, the other Olympic training centers in Baden-Württemberg ( OSP Rhein-Neckar , OSP Stuttgart and OSP Tauberbischofsheim ) were also merged under the legal sponsorship of the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association as part of the basic agreement.

The OSP Freiburg-Black Forest is currently one of 18 German Olympic training centers .

The headquarters of the Olympic base is located at Schwarzwaldstrasse 177 in Freiburg im Breisgau .

Sports and areas of focus

Over 200 federal cadre athletes (ABC cadre) from several Olympic sports are looked after by the OSP Freiburg-Black Forest.

The OSP Freiburg-Black Forest offers a holistic, sports medicine, physiotherapy, training science, sports psychology and social support program for all national team athletes.

Elite school of sport

The Staudinger comprehensive school in Freiburg im Breisgau is connected to the Olympic base as an elite school of sport .
