The Olympiastützpunkt Hessen is a cross-sport support and service facility for top-class sport for national squad athletes and their coaches.

history

OSP Hessen was founded in 1988 as OSP Frankfurt-Rhein-Main in Frankfurt am Main . The OSP has been sponsored by the State Sports Association of Hesse since 1992 . The head office has been in the immediate vicinity of the Commerzbank-Arena since 2000 . In February 2008 the base was renamed OSP Hessen .

The OSP Hessen is currently one of 18 German Olympic bases .

Outline and structure

Locations

The headquarters of the Olympic base is located in Frankfurt am Main in the immediate vicinity of the Commerzbank-Arena in the building of the State Sports Association of Hesse in Otto-Fleck-Schneise 4.

Sports and areas of focus

Around 250 national squad athletes ( Olympic , perspective , supplementary and junior squads) from up to 20 Olympic sports are looked after by the OSP Hessen.

tasks

The OSP Hessen offers a comprehensive range of support services for all national team athletes.

This includes sports medicine , physiotherapy and training science , as well as sports psychology and social measures.

The field of athletic training is covered by former swimmer Ralph Färber .

Elite schools of sport

The Carl-von-Weinberg School in Frankfurt-Goldstein is connected to the Olympic base as an elite school of sport .

Sponsorship

The Landessportbundes Hessen eV has been running the Hesse Olympic base since 1992 as a sponsoring association.
