The North Rhine-Westphalia Olympic Training Center (OSP NRW) is a support and service facility for national cadre athletes in the Olympic, Paralympic and deaflympic disciplines and their trainers. He supports federal and selected state cadres in the areas of health management, performance optimization and dual careers and has a coordinating role in regional competitive sport development in coordination with the respective central associations.

The Landessportbund Nordrhein-Westfalen eV (LSB NRW) is the sponsor of the Olympic training center NRW with locations in Rhineland , Rhine-Ruhr and Westphalia . Through the sponsorship, the LSB NRW assumes responsibility for the operation of the three Olympic bases. The work of the OSP NRW is based on the official DOSB base concept.

history

The two Olympic training centers in Rhineland and Rhine-Ruhr were founded in 1987. In 1994 the OSP Westphalia followed . Until the end of 2018 they were sponsored by the respective sponsoring associations and in Westphalia under the Olympiastützpunkt gGmbH of the city of Dortmund.

The advocacy of a humane, manipulation-free and fair competitive sport is the basis of all services that are offered to top athletes in Olympic and Paralympic sports alike.

financing

The Olympic Training Center NRW with its three locations is mainly financed by funds from the Federal Ministry of the Interior. In addition, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the municipalities finance the work of the OSP NRW.
