Klaus Wöller

Klaus Wöller (born April 23, 1956 in Hanover ) is a former German handball player . He won the Olympic silver medal in 1984.

The 1.87 meter tall goalkeeper played in the handball Bundesliga from 1976 . In 1981 he won the DHB Cup and the European Cup Winners ' Cup with the TuS Nettelstedt . Towards the end of his career he played with the Reinickendorfer Füchsen in Berlin.

Wöller played in 72 international matches in the German national team . On November 20, 1976 he made his international debut in Ploesti against Romania . At the handball world championship in 1982 , he finished seventh with the German team. The team was more successful at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles : Wöller played five games, including in the final in the 17:18 defeat against Yugoslavia, where he was second goalkeeper behind Andreas Thiel . In December 1985, he played his last international match against Iceland .
