TuS N-Lübbecke is the name of the first men's team of the German handball club TuS Nettelstedt from the city of Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia and the economic sponsor (TuS N-Lübbecke GmbH) of the professional team. The name was given at the instigation of the main sponsor Paul Gauselmann . The club has played in the 2nd handball Bundesliga since 2018 .

Even on the large field in the 1940s, the 2000-inhabitant village was playing in the top division of the time. In 1970, the club caused a stir nationwide when Herbert Lübking , head of the German national team at the time, moved from Grün-Weiß Dankersen (now GWD Minden ) from the Bundesliga to the regional league for TuS Nettelstedt. This change resulted in a competitive relationship with district rivals GWD Minden that continues to this day.

With Lübking and other prominent reinforcements, the club marched through the leagues. In the final of the German field handball championship in 1975 , the last championship game ever on the large field, TuS Nettelstedt was defeated by TSG Haßloch on its own pitch with 14:15. In 1976 they reached the indoor handball league with the sixth promotion in a row since 1970/71. TuS Nettelstedt became a founding member of the single-track handball Bundesliga in 1977 and was its first table leader.

In 1981 the club won the DHB Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup , in which they had participated as the 1980 vice cup winner . In 1983 the club was relegated to the second Bundesliga; It was not until eleven years later that it became possible again. In 1997 and 1998 the TuS won the City Cup , in 1999 they reached the semifinals of this competition again. In 2001, the club rose again from the second division with high debts. Under the name TuS N-Lübbecke the immediate ascent was achieved, which was followed by the renewed descent. In the 2003/04 season, TuS N-Lübbecke set a record when the club finished the second division season with 68-0 points. The TuS remained as the second team after the SG Flensburg-Handewitt 1991/92 in a whole second division season without a loss point (whereby the SG Flensburg had also reached the final in the DHB Cup in its record season). On March 17, 2007 TuS completed its 500th game in the single-track Bundesliga and then held the class after a successful relegation round. When the team fell to the bottom of the table on February 24, 2008, coach Velimir Kljaić resigned; in his place, team manager Zlatko Feric took over the coaching post. Ferić had already jumped in as a replacement a year earlier after coach Jens Pfänder was on leave . Nevertheless, the club was relegated from the Bundesliga. On April 25, 2009 the TuS succeeded in direct promotion back to the 1st Bundesliga.

For the first home game of the season in 2009/10, the Lübbecke district sports hall was rebuilt, since then it has been equipped with a VIP lounge (Merkur Arena) and houses a sports bar. On February 6, 2010, TuS N-Lübbecke entered the final four of the DHB Cup in Hamburg for the first time with a 26:22 away win at Bergischer HC . There they won the "small final" against VfL Gummersbach and came third. The Bundesliga season ended with a tenth place. In the two following years they also placed themselves in midfield with twelfth and ninth place, but at the end of the 2015/16 season they were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga as bottom of the table with only 8 points. In the all-time table of the 1st Bundesliga, TuS has exactly 800 completed (rated) games at the end of the 2015/16 season. 283 of them were won, 439 were lost. Nettelstedt was involved in a draw 78 times. There are also four games played, but later canceled, of which TuS won two (1982 against PSV Hannover and 1997 against OSC Rheinhausen) and lost two (both in 2015/16 against HSV Hamburg).

In the 2016/17 season she was immediately promoted again. The goal of relegation was missed in the 2017/18 season and the team was relegated again.

With Niclas Pieczkowski a player of TuS N-Lübbecke met in January 2016 in the squad of the German national handball team, which the European Championship finals in 2016 in Poland won.
