Niclas Pieczkowski (born December 28, 1989 in Hagen-Hohenlimburg ) is a German handball player who plays in the back room.
Career
society
Pieczkowski began his handball career at the age of five at Letmather TV, where he ran through the youth sector until 2005. After a year at HTV Sundwig / Westig, he switched to the A-youth team at VfL Eintracht Hagen in 2006 and was quickly given time in the senior teams at VfL. From 2008 to 2010 he was an integral part of the Regionalliga team.
For the 2010/11 season Pieczkowski left Eintracht and signed with the second division club TUSEM Essen . He was promoted to the Bundesliga with TUSEM in 2012 . For the 2013/14 season he left Essen and joined the Bundesliga club TuS N-Lübbecke . Pieczkowski has been under contract with SC DHfK Leipzig since the 2016/17 season . He signed a contract until 2018 and extended it prematurely until 2020. In June 2020 he signed a one-year contract with SC DHfK Leipzig.
National team
April 2015 Pieczkowski was national coach Dagur Sigurðsson for the international match against Switzerland and the following shortly thereafter doubles against Spain in the squad of the national team appointed. In January 2016, Pieczkowski won the European Championship in Poland as a player for TuS N-Lübbecke with the national team . For the European Handball Championship 2018 he was appointed to the 20 squad by national coach Christian Prokop. He had to cancel the start of the course due to a shoulder injury. The national coach nominated his teammate Maximilian Janke for him. He has played 41 games so far, in which he scored 46 goals.
