Joel Birlehm (born April 25, 1997 in Herford ) is a German handball goalkeeper .

Career

Birlehm started playing handball at Handball Bad Salzuflen before joining the GWD Minden Bundesliga youth team in 2010 . From the 2015/16 season he was a member of the GWD Minden Bundesliga squad. In summer 2017 he switched to TuS N-Lübbecke . For the 2019/20 season he moved to SC DHfK Leipzig .

National team

Birlehm is a member of the U-19 national team. In 2014 he played the European Championship in Poland and in 2015 the World Championship in Russia. He played a total of 36 international matches for the German U-19s.

Birlehm completed a total of 32 international matches for the U20 and U21 national teams. In 2016 he and the team won the silver medal at the Junior European Championships in Denmark, in 2017 in Algeria Birlehm finished fourth with the junior selection.
