Luca Witzke (born April 3, 1999 ) is a German handball player who plays in the central back position at SC DHfK Leipzig .

Career

society

Witzke came to TUSEM Essen in the A-youth . From the 2017/18 season he played in the club's second division team. In the 2018/19 season he scored 98 goals for Essen.

In the summer of 2019 he moved to SC DHfK Leipzig in the Bundesliga .

National team

Witzke has played 18 junior internationals so far. With the U20 national team, he won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Celje (Slovenia) in summer 2018 . He missed the 2019 U21 European Championship due to a patellar tendon injury.

In October 2019, Witzke was nominated for a week of training courses and international matches for the senior national team . There he broke his nose, so that he has not yet made his first international appearance. He was the youngest player in the 28-man squad for the European Championship in January 2020.
