The General Rather Turnverein (ART Düsseldorf) e. V. is a non-profit, multi-discipline association in Düsseldorf , the tradition of which goes back to 1877. In that year one of the two parent associations of ART, the ATV Düsseldorf from 1877, was founded. ART Düsseldorf was created in 1973 from the merger with Rather TV from 1890.

The Athletics has ART Dusseldorf and its two parent clubs a long tradition. The track and field athletes at ART Düsseldorf were leaders in Düsseldorf and, in addition to the titles of district championships, North Rhine-Westphalia, West German and German champions , as well as world and European champions in the age group .

marathon

After only two years, the ART marathon team was dissolved at the end of 2018 for financial reasons, despite titles and medals.

Handball

In the past, the handball players were involved in various handball game communities (HSG) under changing club names , and the first men's team played in the handball Bundesliga until 2010 under the name HSG Düsseldorf . (see main article ART Düsseldorf ).

volleyball

The men's 1 volleyball players have been playing at ART Duesseldorf since the 2018/2019 season. The long-term syndicate with CVJM Ratingen was dissolved. (see main article SG Düsseldorf / Ratingen ).
