Jens Bechtloff (born April 17, 1986 in Waiblingen ) is a German handball player . He plays at TuS N-Lübbecke in the 2nd handball Bundesliga on the left wing position .
Career
Bechtloff began playing handball at TV Bittenfeld at the age of five . Until the A-youth Bechtloff played in the left backcourt. At the age of 17 he was accepted into the men's squad by then coach Günter Schweikardt , where he was retrained as an outside player. With the TV Bittenfeld he rose in the 2003/04 season in the handball regional league and in 2005/06 in the 2nd Bundesliga South. From 2007 he was under contract with TBV Lemgo, with whom he won the EHF Cup in 2010. He has been under contract with TuS N-Lübbecke since summer 2015 . For the 2020/21 season he will move to TSG Altenhagen-Heepen .
He played eight games for the German national youth team and was European junior champion in Innsbruck in 2006. He made his international debut for the German men's national handball team on November 29, 2008 in a friendly against Iceland. He has played five international matches so far , in which he scored three goals.
In 2006, Bechtloff was awarded the sports merit plaque of the city of Waiblingen for special services to sport.
