Regional league

The Regional is in many sports associations in Germany , Austria and Switzerland at a mostly the top of the league system is moved regional league . Organizers of the league are regularly the regional or state associations responsible for the territory of one or more federal states or cantons and subordinate to the national sports association.

Germany

American football

In men's American football , the regional league is on the third division level below the GFL and GFL 2 . The regional league is currently played in 5 seasons:

  • Regionalliga North

  • Regional league middle
  • Regional league south

The champions of the North, East and West seasons determine who has been promoted to GFL 2 North after all games have been completed in relegation games, while the champions and runner-up in the Middle and South seasons determine who has been promoted to GFL 2 South.

In men's badminton , the regional league is on the third division level below the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga . The regional league is currently played in five seasons:

  • Regionalliga Nord (Berlin-Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Schleswig-Holstein)
  • Regionalliga West (North Rhine-Westphalia)
  • Regionalliga Mitte (Thuringia, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland)
  • Regionalliga Südost Staffel Ost (Bavaria (part), Saxony)
  • Regionalliga Südost Staffel Süd (Bavaria (part), Baden-Württemberg)

The champions of the North, West and Middle seasons will be promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, while the two Southeast season winners will determine another promoted team in the first and second leg.

In men's basketball , the regional league is on the fourth and fifth division level below the Bundesliga , ProA and ProB . The regional league is divided into the 1st regional league and the 2nd regional league. The 1st regional league is played in four groups:

  • 1. Regionalliga Nord (Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein)
  • 1. Regionalliga West (North Rhine-Westphalia)
  • 1. Regionalliga Südost (Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia)
  • 1. Regionalliga Südwest (Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland)

The master of each 1st regional league playgroup acquires the right to participate in sports in order to be promoted to the ProB.

In women's basketball , the regional league is in the third and fourth division levels below the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga . Only below the Regionalliga Nord there is a 2nd Regionalliga with the seasons North, East and West. The (1st) regional league is played in four game groups, with the Regionalliga Südwest divided into two groups:

  • 1. Regionalliga Nord (Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein)
  • Regionalliga West (North Rhine-Westphalia)
  • Regionalliga Südost (Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia)
  • Regionalliga Südwest, Group North (Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland)
  • Regionalliga Südwest Baden-Württemberg (Baden-Württemberg)

The leaders of the two groups play off the promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga from the southwest . The masters of the other playgroups rise straight away.

ice Hockey

In men's ice hockey , the regional league is on the fourth division level below the DEL , the DEL II and the major league in the ice hockey league system .   • Regionalliga Northeast
  • Regionalliga Northwest
  • Regionalliga West
  • Regional League East
  • Regionalliga Southeast
  • Regional league south
  • Regionalliga southwest

The champions of all regional league relays will be promoted to the third division at the end of the season.

In men's football , the regional league is on the third division level below the Bundesliga and the second division . The regional league is currently played in three seasons:

The champions of the three seasons play in a relegation with the penultimate of the first division for promotion.

Switzerland

ice Hockey

In men's ice hockey , the Regio League is the collective name for the junior and amateur sports leagues of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation held at the third to sixth game level . The highest of these divisions is the 1st division, which is below the National League A and the National League B. The 1st league is currently played in 3 groups:

  • 1st league group 1 (Eastern Switzerland)
  • 1st league group 2 (Central Switzerland)
  • 1.Liga group 3 (Suisse Romande)

The group winners determined in each group after the playoffs then play for the Swiss amateur championship. The amateur champion is entitled to promotion to the National League B if further criteria are met.

Soccer

In men's football , the regional league is the collective name for the leagues of the regional associations held at the sixth to ninth division level. Highest of these divisions is below the Super League , the Challenge League , the first league promotion , 1. Liga Classic and the 2. Liga Interregional be moved 2. League . The 2nd league is currently played in 17 groups.
