The second women's basketball league (2nd DBBL) is the second highest league in the German Women - Basketball .

The 2nd DBBL is an institution of DBBL GmbH. The DBBL consists of the playgroups of the 1st DBBL and the 2nd DBBL. A Bundesliga team can participate with one team in each of the DBBL game groups. The game is played according to the official FIBA rules . A cup competition is held with all Bundesliga teams and the respective champions of the countries, which in TOP4 determines the cup winner from the last four teams remaining in the competition.

The managing director is Achim Barbknecht, his predecessors until June 30, 2007 were Birgit Kunel and Jürgen Kofner . The DBBL is based in Leverkusen .
