List of German basketball teams

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Alba Berlin's home game against Artland Dragons in 2008.

The list of German basketball teams includes the men's teams that have ever played basketball on a professional and semi-professional level, ie in the basketball league , the 2nd basketball league , the ProA or the ProB . For a better overview, the list is divided into six tables (see table of contents).

Notes on the tables

The subdivision into the tables below was made for better readability. For reasons of space, a club should only be listed in the table of the league to which the club currently belongs or, if the club is not currently playing professional basketball, the highest-ranking league to which the club belonged, even if it should appear in several according to the table name . The assignment of league affiliations in the event of a division or name changes is based on the eternal table of the Basketball Bundesliga. So z. B. the participation in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga before 2000 was assigned to the EWE Baskets Oldenburg , although the club was only formed in 2000 as a spin-off from the Oldenburger TB . For the sake of clarity, the 2nd Bundesliga and ProA are summarized in one column and the number of seasons in the ProB in a separate column. Affiliations to the regional league (before the introduction of the ProB in 2007, the third highest division) are not listed. A geographical allocation ( north or south ) of the clubs in earlier seasons of the Bundesliga, 2nd Bundesliga or ProB is waived. For the current Bundesliga, ProA and ProB clubs, the current season is already included in the total number of years.
