Basketball department

Basketball has been played at the OTB since 1954 , and in 1964 the OTB became champion of the Oberliga Nord. The men's team of the Oldenburger Turnerbund was one of the twenty founding members of the basketball league of the DBB in 1966 . In 1971 the descent followed. Then there were two more first division appearances, otherwise the club was mostly at the front in the second division. In 2000 the OTB rose again to the top division. In the following year, EWE Baskets Oldenburg were founded and have played in the basketball league ever since.

In 2011/2012, the team made it to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB and thus operates two leagues below the EWE Baskets Oldenburg as a farm team . Since 2012, the OTB men's team has been participating in a syndicate with the Baskets Akademie Weser-Ems (BAWE). Young players in particular are used with a double license in both EWE Baskets and BAWE / OTB. Together with the EWE Baskets, the OTB is a member of the Baskets Academy Weser-Ems , with the aim of promoting and training young players. In 2014 and 2015, BAWE / OTB won the championship in the third-class 2nd Bundesliga ProB, and promotion to the second division was waived in each case. Mladen Drijenčić was promoted from head coach at BAWE / OTB to head coach at EWE Baskets in spring 2015 . Following the 2019/20 season, which ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the team was withdrawn from the 2nd Bundesliga ProB.

Sports acrobatics department

The acrobatics department has existed since 2012 and was formed from the gymnastics department in order to meet the considerable demand for this sport due to the enormous success of the “New Power Generation” (NPG) show groups. To give “young generation” and “showgirls” new development opportunities. Under the sporting direction of Christiane and Manuel Karczmarzyk, the NPG were able to win a gold medal at the World Championships "Gym for Life" in Cape Town - South Africa.

Since 2013, the athletes have been taking part in the national and international championships of the Lower Saxony Gymnastics Association, the German Gymnastics Association and the German Sports Acrobatics Association. In 2014, 3 state and 4 Northwest German championship titles were won in a short time.

Volleyball department

The volleyball department consists of seven women's, three men's and numerous youth teams. The first women's team plays in the Third League West , the first men's team in the Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen. The national player Maren Brinker played from 2002 to 2005 at the Oldenburg TB in the regional league.

Table tennis department

The table tennis department is mainly known for its success in the senior sector. Several titles were won here in both the over 40 and over 50 age groups.
