Wang Yansheng

Wang Yansheng (born January 10, 1961 ) is a German national table tennis player and trainer who emigrated from China . Since the beginning of the 1990s he played for German clubs.

Career

Wang Yansheng was born in China. Around 1990 he emigrated to Norway. Under the flag of Norway, he took part in the 1991 World Cup, where he made it to the quarter-finals in doubles. He was also nominated for the European Championships in 1990 and 1992 , where he failed in the individual in the quarter-finals in 1990 against the Pole Andrzej Grubba . At the Northern European Championships ("Nordic Championships") he won the singles, in the mixed with Marianne Blikken he came second.

Wang Yansheng has been playing for German clubs since 1987. First he joined Germania Schnelsen from Hamburg, where he played in the table tennis Bundesliga for two years . In 1989 he moved to the then second division club VfB Lübeck , with whom he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 1990 and again in 1998 - now under the name “Team Galaxis Lübeck”. In 1998 he received German citizenship. In 1999 he left Lübeck. About the club stations TTC Frickenhausen (1999/2000), DJK Offenburg (2000/01), Hertha BSC (2001/02) and Hamburger SV (2002-2005) he finally came to SV Siek , with which he 2007 from the Regionalliga to the 2nd Bundesliga promotion. In Siek he was active as a player and coach in around 250 league games until 2019, and in 2019 he left the club and joined the upper division Oldenburger TB .

2010 Wang Yansheng was second in the senior world championship in the age group over 40. Two years later he won bronze in the AK50 singles and doubles with the Australian Lu Qiwei. In 2018 Yansheng Wang won the World Championship in Las Vegas for seniors in the 55+ group.
