Christian Emanuel Heinrich (born November 10, 1977 in Quakertown , Bucks County , Pennsylvania) is a former American basketball player with German citizenship. During his career as a professional basketball player he played in Austria, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Life & Career

Heinrich, who weighs 113 kg and is 2.08 m tall, who has German roots in Bad Laasphe, Tauberbischofsheim Essen in Franconia, has both US citizenship and German citizenship, was trained at St. Louis University in the USA between 1997 and 2001 ( 1998 & 2000 participation in the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship tournament), where he averaged between four and seven points per game in four years before he was signed by the Austrian first division club UBC St. Pölten , then reigning champion of the ABL, and thus his Professional career began. After a successful season at St. Pölten, for which Heinrich achieved 16.8 points and 7.5 rebounds, the father of a daughter, who together with his wife owns a house in Passau, moved to the Polish club PTS Lider Pruszków, which he also did left after a year for Hungary, where he played for Kecskeméti KSE. There Heinrich achieved an average of 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in 13 games, but was transferred to the German first division club TSK Würzburg during the 2003/2004 season and given a one-year contract there. After a convincing performance, Heinrich, who became a crowd favorite during his time in Würzburg, extended his expiring contract for another year. Heinrich then worked for the clubs Trenkwalder Reggio Emilia , Pepsi Caserta and Nuova Pallacanestro Pavia for several years in Italy's second basketball league until he returned to Würzburg in Lower Franconia at the beginning of the 2009/10 season, this time for the second from the Southeast Regionalliga . Bundesliga ProB promoted Würzburg Baskets. Heinrich was only hired there for four weeks as a temporary worker, but then signed a contract that was endowed until the end of the 2010/11 season.

In 2011, Chris Heinrich and the rest of the St. Louis University basketball team from the 1999/2000 season were inducted into the college's Hall of Fame.

After advancing with Würzburg, he moved to the regional league for the Oldenburger TB . Heinrich celebrated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga Pro B with Lower Saxony. The young team was able to keep the class there. After two years in Oldenburg, Heinrich's contract expired and he accepted an offer from the Crailsheim Merlins for the 2013/2014 season.
