Paul Albrecht (born April 2, 1993 in Jever ) is a German basketball player on the position of the winger . The 2.05 meter tall Albrecht has been part of the Dragons Rhöndorf's squad since summer 2020 .

Career

As a teenager, Albrecht moved from the Oldenburg TB to TuS Jena , where he was deployed in the youth team and initially in the second men's team from 2009, and then received the first minutes of play for Jena in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA in the 2011/12 season . Between 2012 and 2014 he played again for the Oldenburg TB, which, in cooperation with the Baskets Akademie Weser-Ems, forms the youth team of the Bundesliga club EWE Baskets . With the syndicate Albrecht won the championship title in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in 2014 and then switched to ProA representative Paderborn Baskets , where he played in the 2014/15 season. In 2015/16 he was active for ETB Essen , also in the ProA, and moved to the White Wings Hanau within the league in summer 2016 . In Hanau he scored five points per match in his first season and then 8.9 points in the second.

During the summer break of 2018 he made the move to ProA promoted Artland Dragons . Albrecht recorded 9.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per match during the 2018/19 season and was therefore a top performer for Lower Saxony.

After his contract in Quakenbrück expired, Albrecht moved to Dragons Rhöndorf in the 1st Regionalliga West in summer 2020 and signed a contract with the former Bundesliga club until 2023.

National team

Albrecht was part of the squad of the German Basketball Federation for the U16 European Championship in Lithuania in 2009, for the home World Cup for the U17 age group in Hamburg in summer 2010 and was also nominated for the U18 and U20 selection teams of the DBB.
