Career

Lockhart played as a teenager in the youth division of TV Wetzlar.

From 2010 U16 international Lockhart played for the youth team of the 46ers from Gießen in the youth basketball league (NBBL). In the 2011/12 ProB season , the 17-year-old Lockhart was also used in men's games and started in the third-highest division with the 46ers cooperation partner VfB Giessen. Here he quickly became a top performer with over 20 minutes of playing time per game, but last year's climber achieved the worst result of all teams in the league with only two wins in the main round of the group south and failed in the playdowns due to relegation again. In the following regional league season they missed direct promotion.

After the Gießen 46ers, in which Lockhart had not seen any time in the first team of the top division, were also relegated from the top division for the first time after the basketball Bundesliga in 2012/13 , Lockhart moved to the then runner-up EWE Baskets in Oldenburg . At the EWE Baskets, Lockhart made his debut in the top German division in four short appearances in the 2013/14 basketball Bundesliga . Lockhart played very successfully with a double license in the “ farm team ” of the first division club, a cooperation between the Basketball Academy Weser-Ems (BAWE) and the parent club Oldenburger Turnerbund (OTB). In the ProB 2013/14 the team reached fourth place in the northern group and moved into the play-offs up to the finals, in which you could win a direct comparison against the team from Baunach, the farm team of the first division competitor Brose Baskets . While the Baunacher exercised the right to promotion to the second highest division, ProA , associated with reaching the finals , the Oldenburg team stayed in the ProB, in which, in addition to an award for coach Drijenčić, young player Lockhart was awarded the ProB Youngster of the Year award. With the junior national team of the DBB , Lockhart came at the U20 European Championships in 2014, as in his previous participations with youth selection teams, again only on a placement in the bottom third of the A group of the best European selection teams. While Lockhart remained with the BAWE / OTB farm team as a top performer in the 2014/15 ProB , he was now regularly used in the top division of the 2014/15 basketball Bundesliga , with an average of almost nine minutes per game in the first half of the season got. The final breakthrough to become a regular in Oldenburg's first division team, however, he did not succeed.

With the aim of getting more match practice, Lockhart joined first division BG Göttingen for the 2017/2018 season . In August 2017 he took part in the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei with the German national student  team. At the beginning of November 2017 he was appointed to the German senior national team for the first time and made his debut in the first international match under the new national coach Henrik Rödl , on November 25, 2017 in the World Cup qualifier against Georgia.
