BG Leitershofen / Stadtbergen
The BG Leitershofen / Stadtbergen (TOPSTAR Kangaroos or just called Kangaroos) is a basketball club in the Augsburg region.
The BG is a merger between the basketball departments of TSV Leitershofen and TSG Stadtbergen. The first men's team has played in the 1st Regionalliga Südost since 1998, interrupted by a four-year interlude in the 2nd basketball league, including in the nationwide ProA relay in the 2011/12 season.
In 2012, the game operations of the first men's team were spun off into Kangaroos Basketball GmbH, whose shareholders consist of almost 30 club members. The 2nd men's team in the 2nd Regionalliga Süd as well as a third men's team, an over 40 team (Swabian subscription champion) and the hobby team also take part in the game.
Youth work
The club has several youth teams. All age groups from U10 to U18 are occupied, the teams were able to enter several Swabian championships and qualify for further tournaments.
Since 2017, the club has been initiating the joint youth sports project baramundi basketball academy augsburg together with TSV Schwaben Augsburg , which maintains both a team in the U16 Bundesliga (JBBL) and a team in the U14 Bayern League.
