Stefan Goschenhofer

Stefan Goschenhofer (born August 19, 1974 ) is a German basketball coach .

career

In March 2006, Goschenhofer took over as coach for the men's team at the BG Leitershofen / Stadtbergen . In the 2006/07 season he led the team to promotion to the 1st regional league, for private reasons he gave up the post at the end of 2007 to Christian Ohler and took over his previous post as coach of the second men's team. In the run-up to the 2008/09 season, Goschenhofer was again coach of the team in the 1st Regionalliga and heralded an extremely successful time. He signed the American Devin Uskoski , who became a key player in the team that led Goschenhofer to promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in 2010  and promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA a year later . However, Leitershofen / Stadtbergen only stayed in the second highest German division for one season, Goschenhofer was unable to keep the team as a new league player, but remained in office after relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga ProA in spring 2012. In December 2013 Goschenhofer resigned as trainer in Leitershofen / Stadtbergen. His battery was empty, he gave the Augsburger Allgemeine as a reason.

Goschenhofer remained loyal to the association and directed the youth work. In January 2017 he took over the coaching position for the third time at the BG Leitershofen / Stadtbergen, which had meanwhile been relegated to the regional league and was fighting to stay in the league. After the end of the 2016/17 season, in which he had led the team to remain in the class, he gave up the coaching position as agreed. Ian Chadwick was his successor, while Goschenhofer, in addition to his youth work, also took on the post of sporting director of the Leitershofen / Stadtbergener men's team.
