Devin Michael Uskoski (born October 11, 1985 ) is a retired American basketball player . After studying in his home country, Uskoski went to Germany as a professional, where he first played in the regional league, but made the jump to the basketball league a few years later and played there for the Central German Basketball Club .

Career

Uskoski grew up in Brush Prairie in the northwestern US state of Washington on the border with Oregon and studied from 2005 at the private, Protestant Rocky Mountain College in Billings . With the basketball team "Battlin 'Bears" he won the national championship in 2009 in the college league NAIA, which is less important than the NCAA, and was named the best player (" MVP ") of the final tournament. Then Uskoski began a professional career as a basketball player.

For the 2009/10 season Uskoski was signed by the fourth-class German regional division BG Leitershofen / Stadtbergen near Augsburg . With the club he was promoted to the next higher class 2. Bundesliga ProB and was able to achieve second place in the regular season in the group south straight away. Uskoski was the best rebounder in the entire league with just under 11 rebounds per game and achieved a so-called double-double in 13 of 22 games , which is why he was initially named ProB's Player of the Month in January 2011. In the play-offs with the teams from the Northern group, they moved into the finals, where they only had to give up again only to the main round first erdgas Ehingen / Urspringschule . By reaching the final, the Leitershofener had reached promotion and march through to the ProA, and Uskoski was named Player of the Year, which corresponds to the MVP. In the summer months Uskoski returned to his homeland and, as in 2010, played for the Volcanoes from the city of Vancouver in the US state of Washington in the Minor League International Basketball League. In 2011, the Volcanoes won the championship of this league, and Uskoski again had MVP-worthy statistics in the final game with 25 points and 14 rebounds, this time going to a teammate.

At ProA 2011/12 , Uskoski moved from the Bavarian-Swabian Leitershofen to the Württemberg-Swabian Kirchheim unter Teck to the Knights established in the league . With the Knights he reached second place after regular time in the single-track division and was again one of the best rebounders and the players with the highest effectiveness values in the league in the higher division . He was then named player of the month in March 2012 in the ProA. In the play-offs you could defend this placement and reached the final against the main round first and former BBL relegated Mitteldeutscher BC from Weißenfels . Here you lost just in the addition of the two finals with two basket points. While the league organization Arizona Reid from the champions MBC honored as player of the year, the specialist portal eurobasket.com saw Uskoski again as player of the year. By reaching the finals, the Kirchheimers had earned the right to promotion to the BBL as ProA runner-up, but economic reasons prevented a necessary license for the top division.

For the season 2012/13 Uskoski was signed by the ProA final opponent and first division returnee Mitteldeutscher BC, and Uskoski is playing one division higher in Germany for the fourth time in a row. After the season was over, Uskoski and those in charge of the MBC could not agree on a new contract and Uskoski left the club after a year.

In the 2013/14 season Uskoski played for the Japanese club Toyota Alvark and then ended his career.
