With One Last Breath is a post-hardcore band from York , Great Britain , formed in 2008 .
history
The group, formed in April 2008, consists of singer Sam Graves, guitarist Alex Scott, former Asking Alexandria bassist Joe Lancaster, guitarist Joe Graves and drummer Christopher Bowling.
On July 1, 2010 the first EP, which is also called With One Last Breath , was released on their own. Asking Alexandria singer Danny Worsnop has a guest appearance in the play Wake the Dead . The EP sold 25,000 copies on iTunes , with the majority of buyers from the United States . This was followed by the release of the single Hell We Create on January 24, 2011. After that, the first music video for the song After the Suffering appeared , which was not released on the EP or on the single.
From January 10th to 23rd, 2012, Asking Alexandria's support band was on their “The Still Reckless Tour”. Asking Alexandria was accompanied by Blessthefall and Chelsea Grin . With One Last Breath only played in the UK . On April 21st the group was support band of Of Mice & Men alongside Bury Tomorrow and the Japanese band Crossfaith . With One Last Breath has now been signed by the American booking agency The Artery Foundation . On June 5, 2012 the group played as part of the Kerrang! Awards in London together with Skindred , Yashin and Feed the Rhino . On June 8th and 10th, the group performed at the Download Festival in Donington . The group played on the "Jägermeister Acoustic Stage" together with Yashin, Skindred and Breed 77 . On June 10th, the group played on the RedBull Bedroom Jam Stage with William Control , The Minutes and The Dirty Youth .
The release of the debut album was planned for the further course of 2012. On May 28, 2012 the group was named “Band of the Week” by the British magazine “ Rock Sound ”. In the same article the song Wake It Up , which will be found on the new album, was pre-published. On July 19, 2012 With One Last Breath could be seen at the warm-up party of the Serengeti Festival together with Bloodwork in Safariland in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock . In September the group was seen together with Buried in Verona from Australia as a support band on the UK tour of Motionless in White .
On January 4, 2013, the group announced they had signed with Small Town Records . In addition, their second EP Wake the Dead was released on February 25, 2013 and sold worldwide. Even before their EP was re-released, it became known that singer Spencer Costello had left the band because he had a daughter. Sam Graves, the band's former guitarist, was appointed lead vocalist and Alex Scott was introduced as the band's new guitarist. In April 2013, the band as a co-headliner on tour with Adept from Sweden by the United Kingdom . The concerts took place in Portsmouth , London , Glasgow , Manchester , Derby , Wrexham , Leeds , Norwich and Birmingham . In July, With One Last Breath were the sole headliner to tour the UK again. As recently as May, the group was the main support for The Defiled . In September the group was Support for Issues and Crown the Empire on their UK concert tour.
In early April 2014, the debut album The Fearless Ones was released on Small Town Records. In mid-April, the group gave five album release shows in the UK . A tour with Hope's Die Last through southern Europe is to take place in May .
style
Allschools describes the style of music as a mixture of Bullet for My Valentine and Asking Alexandria . On highwiredaze.com, critic Kenneth Morton cited heavy metal as an influence in the band's musical style. Morton described the song I'm Taking Over (Thanks To You) as a cross between In Flames and A Skylit Drive .
