Daniel Robert Worsnop (born September 4, 1990 in Beverley , East Yorkshire , known as Danny Worsnop ) is a British rock musician. He is the lead singer and songwriter for the metalcore band Asking Alexandria . He also founded the Harlot project in 2011 , which only gave its first signs of life in 2014 in the form of a single and several festival appearances. The debut album is due to be released in March 2015 via Roadrunner Records . He was also working on a solo album that was scheduled for mid-2013 and was released four years later via Earache Records .

Life

Daniel Robert Worsnop was born on September 4, 1990 in Beverley , East Yorkshire , UK . While in elementary school, he was bullied by his classmates . After graduating from college, he formed the band Asking Alexandria with Ben Bruce, whom he met in Nottingham . At the time he was 17 years old.

He was addicted to drugs for some time and had a drinking problem . During a concert on April 1, 2011 in Seattle, he was drunk and had to be carried off the stage by the other musicians. A spectator was promptly brought onto the stage as a singer. The group promised the fans that the show would be recreated. Worsnop was taken to a rehab clinic. He apologized to the fans via Twitter for this incident.

He lives in Jacksonville , Florida with his fiancée, Victoria Potter. The couple met in early 2018. On August 5, 2018, Worsnop proposed to her during a concert in Columbus , Ohio . He is working on his autobiography, Am I Insane? will be called. The first pages of the book were presented in advance on the website of Alternative Press magazine. He has a younger sister who lives with his parents in Gilberdyke.

Asking Alexandria

Danny Worsnop is one of the founding members of the British band Asking Alexandria . Guitarist Ben Bruce started a band of the same name in Dubai , United Arab Emirates in 2003 , but broke it up in 2007 and re-founded the now world-famous band in the United Kingdom a year later .

Danny Worsnop recorded two EPs with the group, Life Gone Wild (2010) and Under the Influence: A Tribute to the Legends of Hard Rock (2012), as well as four albums, Stand Up and Scream (2009), Reckless & Relentless (2011) , Stepped Up and Scratched (2011) and From Death to Destiny (2013). The first two albums reached chart entries in the USA. Reckless & Relentless also entered the charts in Australia and the United Kingdom.

The band toured with A Static Lullaby , We Came as Romans , Motionless in White , While She Sleeps and Alesana, among others . He played in concerts in North America , Europe , South America , Asia and Australia .

At the end of December Worsnop played as one of the guest singers on Ending is the Beginning , the memorial show for Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence, who died on November 1, 2012 . In addition, were, among others, Randy Blythe , Austin Carlile , Tim Lambesis and Ricky Hoover on. In January 2015 the group announced that they had separated from Worsnop because he wanted to concentrate more on his other band. In October 2016, Worsnop's return to the band was announced.

We are Harlot

In 2011 he founded the Harlot project with Jeff George (formerly involved with Sebastian Bach ) . However, the first single, Denial , wasn't released digitally until three years later. The debut album was originally due to be released during 2014 via Roadrunner Records . However, the debut album will not be released until March 27, 2015. The group's first concert took place at Rock on the Range in Chicago . Just a week later, the band was confirmed as a replacement for Trivium for the Rocklahoma .

Solo musician

As a solo musician, he has so far published the single Savior on YouTube . With his studio project, which is called Harlot , he should record the debut album in 2013, which should be called Home . The album was not finished though. In an interview with Artisan News on Youtube, he said that he hoped to be able to release the album by Easter 2014 at the latest. Worsnop published a statement in February 2016 in which he presented the cover of the album. Accordingly, the album is called The Long Road Home . At that point, he was looking for a record company ready to release the album.

Guest musician

Danny Worsnop has been a guest musician with other bands several times. He recorded for the EP Wake the Dead by the British band With One Last Breath - founder is former Asking Alexandria bassist Joe Lancaster. He can also be heard on Memphis May Fire , I See Stars and Bizzy Bone . He should also have a guest musician part on the debut album Trust in Few by the band We Are Defiance . However, this guest appearance did not materialize because he was recording with Asking Alexandria Reckless & Relentless at that time . He can also be heard in the single Sellouts by Breathe Carolina .
