Randy Blythe
David Randall Blythe , known as Randy Blythe (born February 21, 1971 in Richmond , Virginia ) is an American musician . He is the singer of the metal band Lamb of God , with whom he released seven albums. He was also involved in the production of the 2005 album Hunter by the band A Life Once Lost . Halo of Locusts is the name of his side project. With this he covered the song "Dixie Whiskey" by the group Eyehategod for the tribute album " For the Sick ".
Career
As a teenager, groups like Sex Pistols , Misfits , Bad Brains , Anthrax , Motörhead , Slayer and Pantera were among his musical role models.
He can be seen in Metal - A Headbanger's Journey . He also had a role in the horror film The Graves , which aired in 2009. The film was directed by Brian Pulido . He can also be seen on the DVD of the vocal trainer Melissa Cross from New York , who has already taught Corey Taylor . This DVD is titled "Zen of Screaming". Blythe can be seen in the 85-minute documentary on the DVD "(Set This) World Ablaze" from Killswitch Engage . Blythe makes another appearance on Machine Head's DVD "Elegies" .
On January 5, 2012, Blythe announced on his official blog that he would run for the 2012 presidential election. His election slogan is “Fuck the dumb shit. Let's get real here ”. This news was confirmed a little later by Revolver magazine and Roadrunner Records . Ultimately, however, he did not take part in the election.
In June 2012, Randy Blythe was arrested at Prague airport while entering the Czech Republic on suspicion of bodily harm resulting in death and taken to Pankrác prison. As Prague media reported, the investigation related to a fight between the lead singer of the band and a fan during a concert in Prague in 2010. Blythe had pushed a fan off the stage who fell on the back of the head and died after a coma for several weeks. On August 3, 2012, Blythe was released from custody. On December 3, 2012, it became known that Blythe had been charged with manslaughter in Prague. According to media reports, Blythes was acquitted by the court on March 5, 2013. An appeal by the public prosecutor's office was rejected by the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic. In 2013 he started writing his memoir , which was published by Da Capo Press in 2015.
