Revolver is an American music magazine that specializes in rock and heavy metal . Revolver Magazine has been in print since the spring of 2000 and was initially a magazine that focused on the mainstream. It is structured similarly to Spin Magazine .

The magazine publishes, among other things, release and tour announcements, record reviews, charts and a column by Vinnie Paul von Pantera . The column is currently suspended. The reason for this was an attack on the Damageplan group in which Paul's brother Dimebag Darrell was killed. The column has since been expanded and Lizzy Hale of Halestorm works for the magazine alongside her band activities.

The magazine also focuses on the underground scene and reports on newcomer groups from all over the world that do not appear on music channels like MTV . Since 2009 the magazine has been awarding its own music prize, the Revolver Golden Gods Awards , which are linked to the Kerrang! Awards and the Metal Hammer Awards . On May 28, 2011, Chris Jericho hosted the award ceremony.

The magazine was first printed by Harris Publications , and in 2006 the rights were sold to Future US . Another sale followed in 2012. Since then, NewBay Media has been the publisher of the magazine. In the US, the bimonthly magazine has a print run of 150,000 copies. The current editor-in-chief is Brandon Geist .
